Rush – Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres Lyrics 13 years ago
Taken more literally this is about the idea that neither the heart or the mind should have complete control of us. It something that, really everyone can understand and agree with. But if you look at it beyond the words, it can be seen as being that there's a middle ground in every polarizing issue/feeling/etc... And finding and staying in the middle ground if often the right way to go. Extremes are rarely right

Poets Of The Fall – The Beautiful Ones Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is about how we sometimes forget that the greatest people in our world aren't always the ones who get all of the recognition for their actions. There are people who do amazing things, and yet nobody thanks them, or even thinks about them. Despite that, these people just keep giving everything they have to help others, undeterred by our lack of greatfulness. That is how we sacrifice our beautiful ones. Some of these people we forget about could be soldiers or other servicemen, or even just members of the peace crops or salvation army. All heros of tales unsung.

Poets Of The Fall – 15 Min Flame Lyrics 13 years ago
I would like to be the first to say that this is an awesome song.

I think it's about someone who rushed into fame and success too fast, and it ended quickly and sharply, throwing their life in disarray. And now they're sort of reeling from the shock of the "15 minute flame of fame"

Rush – Digital Man Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is about a man who is changing quickly with the times. The world is progressing so quickly and it's often hard to keep up with it all. The song is about a man who does it all. He doesn't need a bed, because he's never going to rest - never going to stay the same

Rush – New World Man Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is just about America in general. How we have emerged so quickly as a world leader, while only being three hundred years old. America sometimes doesn't seem readt for that postion, other times it shines. It has its ups and down, just as the song suggests.

Rush – Faithless Lyrics 13 years ago
if evolution isnt a fact then would you care to explain the changes we see in certain types of bacteria and viruses that change to become resistant to many of our drugs. HIV is one example. It evolves faster than we can combat it. How can you explain the fossil record? If you cant come up with a better idea that can be tested and retested with repeatable conclusions, then you really have no right to claim evolution is wrong, because odds are scientists know more about what thery're talking about than you do.

Statistically, atheists consist of the most intelligent people on the planet, which is why they're all atheists. Coincidence? I think not. Neil is intelligent, ergo an atheist

Rush – Witch Hunt (Part 3 of Fear) Lyrics 13 years ago
When I first heard the song I wasn't really fond of it. Then it grew on me quickly. It's such an underrated and overlooked song. Very meaning ful, as well. Its about how people let a fear of something new drive them to commit horrendus acts in the pursuit of preserving the way of life they know, the one they think is best.

Rush – Caravan Lyrics 13 years ago
It's a song about the band and how they've pressed forward in the face of adversity (Neil's tragedy and much criticism for the mainstream) and how they've never stopped "thinking big" and doing what they "want instead of what they should".

Speaks to Rush's uniqueness and power as a band that has existed and flourished slightly on the outside. Very deep.

Rush – BU2B Lyrics 13 years ago
Excellent song. I think Caravan is a bit better musically, but lyrically this is fantastic. Finally a band who sees reason and speaks reason, instead of just giving in to the accepted norm.

It speaks a lot to the hypocracy in religion. "While our loving Watchmaker loves us all to death"

Unlike so many, I was brought up being told that I could believe whatever I wanted and I naturally gravitated towards Atheism. I have had experiences with Christianity and Judaism but have done what any rational person would do if they were given the choice instead of being raised a certain way.

Can't wait for the rest of Clockwork Angels

Rush – Anagram (for Mongo) Lyrics 13 years ago
Extremely creative, but its meaning eludes me. I like how every line is almost saying how each word fits into the other - "He and she are in the house but there's only me at home"

Great song from underrated Caress of Steel. Love the historical meaning to it, as well as the anthem sounding guitar at the end. (not the Rush song Anthem, just national anthem sounding)
