The Weeknd – The Morning Lyrics 11 years ago
I love your interpretation, but I disagree with a few of them.

1) "Got the walls kickin' like they 6 months pregnant"

- Call me naive but I think hear he might just be referring to the music being loud. Oppose to making the walls "kick" by having sex with a girl and making noise. (That would have to be really loud to disturb your tenants lol)

2) "Push it to the limit
Push it through the pain
I push it for the pleasure like a virgin to the game
A virgin to that money
A virgin to the fame"

- Although your interpretation that he's still talking about "Pushing" it in reference to sex is plausible, I disagree. I believe that he's actually talking about pushing it to the limit with his career/lifestyle in general (For Example- drug use, hookers, etc.) He supports my theory that it's about his life in the following lines, saying..-- "So this my only chance so when I'm over only pray
That I flow from the bottom, closer to the top
The higher that I climb, the harder I'ma drop"
He's saying that he hopes he remains successful and continue his career without too hard of obstacles.

3) "Zombies of the night"
- I think he's referring to his crew opposed to prostitutes. I believe he's saying that he and his friends are like zombies because they're out so late and so zonked out on multiple drugs hence the next line- "Niggas ain't talking" He and his friends dont feel the need to chit-chat due to how tired and F'ed up they are.

4) "Better slow down she'll feel it in the morning
Ain't the kinda girl you'll be seeing in the morning"

- Again I don't think he's referring to sex here. He's referring to drugs/alcohol saying she should slow down so she doesn't have a hangover the following morning from the different chemicals she is ingesting.

5) "The Weeknd seem to me like a kind of band that can talk about really bad stuff with sensitivity and keeness."

- I dont know if this was just a grammatical error since you're brazilian, but The Weeknd is just one person-Abel Tesfaye. But I do agree his dark lyrics are delicately delivered to where they can be beautiful yet evil all at once. I think that's what makes his music so unique.

I'm not trying to be a condescending douchebag, or demean you by correcting you. I just have great passion for his music and I thought I would add my input to your interpration. I did enjoy reading your thoughts though. I hope you appreciate my feedback!
God bless!

The Weeknd – Rescue You Lyrics 11 years ago
Song Meaning is pretty obvious. He's saying he can "Rescue" the girl from her current relationship because he's noticed her struggles and difficulties from the other man. Good song!

The Weeknd – Loft Music Lyrics 11 years ago
Yeah he's talking about cocaine "keys" weed "hash" and girls who tease "blue ball queen." But the main point of the song is just about getting drugged up and encountering girls and the situations that occur in his loft. Not his deepest song haha...but it's good nonetheless

The Weeknd – Love Through Her Lyrics 11 years ago
The meaning of this song is obvious...He's involved in a sexual relationship (with various girls) while simultaneously missing his previous love-life with one girl. Thus the question "Am I making love to you through her." I love this song, it brings back so many memories seeing how I did the same thing to my ex girlfriend. I tried to escape my memories/feelings for her through sex and it always seemed to fail. Instant gratification can sometimes be tempting, but it's only temporary. God bless!

Wait I couldn't tell if you didn't like the song? Just kidding. Well I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find any appreciation for this song. But personally, I can relate to this song because after I broke up with my girlfriend i immediately had sex with another girl frequently...But while I was having sex/spending time with the new girl I realized that I hadn't completely gotten over my ex. Therefore I found this song to be very relatable and appealing for that sense. I don't think this makes me nor the Weeknd a "whore"...but instead just people, people with emotions. Emotions that he expressed and I related to...I'm sorry you couldn't find any value in this song but to deny some talent possessed in his music/(dark)lyricism is kind of ignorant. There's beauty in darkness, and we learn from our mistakes. God bless!

The Weeknd – High for This Lyrics 11 years ago
I don't see how "Take a glass" applies to using marijuana. And if he was talking about weed he would only be saying that she doesn't "roll" a blunt, joint, etc...which doesn't necessarily mean that she used any drug. But the other interpretation of "rolling" on X implies her being "High for this"...which is the whole point of the song.

It's interesting how music has different effects on people based on their experiences. Fascinating input!

The Weeknd – High for This Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is about having sex with a girl on ectsasy. Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) mentions usage of hallucinogens and amphetamines in a lot of his songs.
"Hold tight for this ride
We don't need no protection" - He's telling the girl that they don't need a condom for this "ride" (sex).
"Open your hand, take a glass." - He's telling the girl to open her palm for the pill, and then she needs a glass (of some liquid) to swallow the pill.
"Even though you don't roll, trust me girl, you wanna be high for this." -Even though she doesn't do ecstasy, he's convincing her that sex is more pleasurable while on this drug...so do it.

I think it's pretty clear he's talking about sex and drug use. With lines like- "Take it off, you want it off" - Take off your clothes. "Let it beat, baby breathe." -He's talking about how ecstasy accelerates the heart rate, and he's assuring her that it's normal, and to just breathe.

The Weeknd is a dark person, drugs and sex is a reoccurring theme in almost all of his songs. Although I feel most of his songs are immoral, I absolutely love him.

MGMT – We Care Lyrics 13 years ago
They are describing how they feel about our world as if they were aliens. The main point they are getting across is that they care about Earth, but it doesn't matter because nobody else does.

"When we get where we're going we feel tingly inside
Eyes that glow like a burning dwarf" - I'm not gonna lie, this line does sound like they are referring to drugs. but who knows...maybe the aliens have glowing eyes and feel tingly when they go to the "arctic" planet.

Lyrics like this can be interpreted hot and cold, black and white, etc.
