I listened to a commentary by the band about this song. This is an in-your-face, burn it to the ground song about CANCER. Cancer affects 1 in 3 people, either to you or a loved one. I am still surprised when I cry every time I hear it, and I haven't experienced that emotional pain like I read in some other posts on the site. This is a POWERFUL song, as powerful as any edgy, hardcore punk tune. There's anger, remorse, regret, and just overwhelming sadness in this song. I have never in my life experienced such a song that causes such emotion in me. |

I am a 44 year-old guy with a 14 year-old son. I got him hooked on Green Day several years ago, and he introduced me to MCR about a year ago. Green Day is still my fav, but I really love this band. I recommend to anyone to get "The Black Parade is Dead" DVD; the New Jersey concert is crazy great. Anyway, about this song, this is the most "fun" and catchy song on the album. Hey we're dying! La-La-La! Let's have a party! That's the message I get out of this song. I asked my son to read it at my funeral. He agreed. |
