Definitely about 2001: A Space Odyssey. They find a monolith on the moon which transmits a signal to Jupiter (or Saturn in Clarke's book). The "one by four by nine" refers to the ratio of the dimensions of the monolith, which is mentioned in the book. |

I think it's mostly about the Star Trek film with the whales. But the first verse seems like it's about another Star Trek film - 'Genesis', I think, where Spock sacrifices himself to save the crew and is later brought back to life. |
