I concur. This song is amazing live. Thankfully she put out "Live from Austin TX" recently so I can enjoy it without seeing her every day. |

Feist – One Evening Lyrics

That is so funny. The reason I got into Feist was because of THIS video. I think this video is awesome. Obviously, it is suppose to be taken in jest. It is so Buck 65. If you saw him live, you'd appreciate this video. |

I think this song is the saddest song I've ever seen played live. *sigh* I suggest not having a knife handy while you listen. |

This is my favourite Lamb song the whole wide world. I love the instrumentation on it. It's unfortunate more people haven't heard it. |

I always thought the lyrics were "(Til the swaying starts to make you sick)" instead of sad. At least that's what they sound like to me when I listen. |

Bright Eyes – Make War Lyrics

The song has really grown on me. It is a great "Fuck you" song. I love the line "And blind him with your kindness." It reminds me how phoney people can be in their "love relationships" |

Bright Eyes – Lover I Don't Have to Love Lyrics
| 22 years ago
|
So basically its about sex and drugs (and rock 'n roll). :) I LOOOOOOOOVE this song. Right now it is my favourite off the new album, though I haven't heard the entire thing. The music on this song is so different from what Bright Eyes normally does. I love it and his voice is full of emotion as always. Mmmmmmmm...can't wait to see him live in a month. |

Backstreet Boys – All I Have To Give Lyrics

Your post is pretty funny, Spliphstar. Your top five favourite bands are manufactured top forty music, as well. You list five bands with a redundant, boring sound. Sure they play their own instruments but that's the only thing they have going for them. They aren't innovative in the least. You are slamming them for liking "pop music" which you yourself like. Hypocrisy is a bitch, eh? |

Bright Eyes – Messenger Bird's Song Lyrics

I think Conor Oberst is a pure genius. I'm surprised that people find his lyrics to be cliche, because most of them aren't at all. Fevers and Mirrors is a BRILLIANT concept album. All of the songs are connected; the lyrics are quite indepth. They aren't something you can sit and catch on right away. You really have to study the album and the lyrics to fully comprehend how poetic the lyrics are. That's what I love most about Bright Eyes is the fact that their lyrics are so profound. Perhaps this song isn't one of his best lyrically; but I challenge you to read the lyrics of Fevers and Mirrors from start to finish several times. It is a story. Conor Oberst has a unique approach to singing, I think. His voice makes you feel what he is feeling. I am a huge Modest Mouse fan. I think Modest Mouse's strong point is their unique use of instruments in their songs. Most Modest Mouse songs tend to only repeat a couple phrases, which are usually also profound. However, there are very few songs where a story is told, like Bright Eyes' songs. |

Bright Eyes – The Difference in the Shades Lyrics

I think the lyrics in this song are one of his best ever. It is so poetic and there is so much truth held in the lyrics. I love the line, "i have learned that nothing is as pressing as the one who is pressing would like you to believe and i am content to walk a little slower because there is nowhere that i really need to be." Mmmmmmmmm. |

I think this EP......this song is the Perfect set up for the album Fevers and Mirrors...it explains a lot of what is going to happen in that album...and why it is happened. |

Bright Eyes – The Center of the World Lyrics

It is interesting to note that in "When the curious girl realizes she is under glass" he talks about returning to the water with his brother and how he won't desert him (this time). And in this song he is at a beach and he turns into sand... |

Bright Eyes – Haligh, Haligh, a Lie, Haligh Lyrics

This song also was the one that hooked me onto Bright Eyes. Mmmmmmmmm. It is impossible to get sick of it no matter how many times you play it. This whole album is about him being sick...mentally or from a fever of sorts. When he says "You would always be there, well where are you now?", he is just reaffirming that he is sick and needs someone...this person to take care of him. |

Bright Eyes – Arienette Lyrics
|
You are right. This song has some of the best metaphors and symbolism on the album. I think an important concept in this album is that he is suffering from a fever and has these wicked dreams because of it. For example when he says "The wicked are vultures, they bake in the canyons. They circle in sunlight and wait for their victims to collapse and call to them." The wicked only come out at night when he is sleeping...ie. when he collapses. |

Bright Eyes – The Movement of a Hand Lyrics

Okay the end of this song is very important...."you finally understand the movement of a hand waving you good-bye." If you fast forward to An Attempt to Tip the Scales the first line is..."Did you expect it all to stop with a wave of your hand?" |

Bright Eyes – Something Vague Lyrics

"and I hang like a star, fucking glow in the dark." Gets me every single time too. What I love about Mr. Oberst first and foremost is his ASTOUNDING ability to write lyrics. I get pissed off when I read reviews and they complain that he is too young to harbour these feelings. That is ageism at its finest. No other artist has made me cry and feel so much in songs. I think the album Fevers and Mirrors is one of the most brilliant concept albums out there. Every single song on this album is related to one another. The theme is carried through. The song Jetsabel Removes the Undesirables is suppose to explain the entire album, BTW. It is on the Japanese realease of Fevers and Mirrors. |

Bright Eyes – The Calendar Hung Itself . . . Lyrics

This is one of my favourite songs on the album. The best line is "Does he walk around all day at school with his feet inside your shoes? Looking down every few steps to pretend he walks with you. " The song needs to be pumping. It is an explosion of anger. I love it when he whispers "here is where you rest." mmmmmmmm. |

Bright Eyes – A Scale, a Mirror, and Those Indifferent Clocks Lyrics

"I know a disease that these Doctors can't treat. You contract it the day you accept all you see is a mirror and mirror is all it can be." That line is brilliant! It is like people usually look into themselves to understand themselves...but sometimes you look and you understand nothing. |

I love the line "And they made me a nacklance, hanging beads of sweat on a string of my regrets, and placed it round my neck. . ." It is like they are making something beautiful out of all the bad things that have happened to him. I love Fevers and Mirrors. There is so much imagery in it. |
