Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here Lyrics

I think aside from the album's Syd theme, there's a more general meaning. One that struggled with with going through life and now see my own daughter fall into the same cycle. Having idealistic and maybe self centered ideals that tend to keep you in turmoil. I watch her try to contort reality into what she thinks is good, or what she wants at that time and inevitably sets herself back to a state of lesser understanding. Figuratively a lost soul swimming in a fish bowl. |

I think it about growing up, and being taught waht your supposed to do and how your supposed to act and the reaction you get when your not the norm. ie rockstar. Or conservative in the new milenium |

Roger Waters – Perfect Sense, Part I Lyrics

This guy was a genius. unfortunatley he did not translate well without his band mates in Pink. He could not see the commercial success anyway. Maybe that was what he wanted. I heard him say on more then one occasion that he did not want the audience to applaud his music, that they were taking away from his art. Egocentricle at best, may have followed Syd a bit more then he should of. But none the less an absolute genious. RIP |

Lynyrd Skynyrd – Simple Man Lyrics

I think this is one of the most powerful songs they wrote. It is a reflection of a man passing on his advice to teach further generations to bereal and simple. I love this song. |

David Gilmour – There's No Way Out of Here Lyrics

I love this album and the effort from David. It seems to be pure Gilmour and no influence from Waters. It was refreshing at the time and a good look into what Pink Floyd was to become. Another Diamond shines on. |

What can you say about the smashing pumpkins. Another adolensent band that thinks they have a message. They need to take a minute and listen to the masters. |

It seems this song is about growing old and truing to grow up. Wanting to get to that point where you stop doing stupid thing and start doing things you know are right and will allow you to succeed. |

Syd Barrett – Bob Dylan Blues Lyrics

Barrett had some issues with the concept of an "artist" and "good work". He may have been a fan but he was never unabashedly a fan of any artist. He may have had many qualities that might make you dismiss him, but this one quality he had made him intrinsic. |

Mötley Crüe – White Punks On Dope Lyrics

I'm glad to see someone realizes it's a Tube song. Taken out of context it has no meaning at all and I do not know why MC would plug it in so monumentally out of place. WHat a bunch of amatures |

Pink Floyd – Time Lyrics

Mundane ticking away of your life. I think the song is an obeservation of a life just plain going on. Nothing special just life. The whole album seems to be an objective veiw of everyday life. Not much comment on it, but extrordinary in the observations, from my point of view. Many parts make you comment to the validity of it. |

Bee Gees – Nights On Broadway Lyrics

Was one of thier finest moments. Showed their talent and potential. I wish they had done more of this style. I was not a fan at the time. Disco vs. Rock and all, but have really come to appriciate them as I grow older. |

Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Lyrics

It seems to me the whole album is abot everyday life. I think that there is the phrase lunatic is throwing alot of you off. I don't think this song has anything to do with indsanity or Syd Barrett. I think that is suggest society asserts pressure to conform, and will make you feel like your out of whack if you do not conform yourself. |

This appears to me to be an retrospective look back onto a mans life and concluding that things are not what they seem to be and ultimatly one has no clue until one can look back, and maybe never. |
