Bee Gees – Grease Lyrics 2 months ago
@[JohnL1990:50108] Grease is what word? In what century of human history was "Grease!" an answer to any question except "what did you just rub in your hair?" or "What should I put in the ball bearings to make this machine run more smoothly?" It's a nonsensical line.

@[jassss:50107] As others have said, Franki Valii sang this in the movie Grease. It was not present in the stage play. The Gibb brothers wrote the song.

@[lanakael:50106] I think you're insane. The only connection between the title of this song and the content of the movie is that most of the boys rub it in their hair. What the heck is "Grease has meaning" supposed to even be saying?

Jimmy Buffett – Sending The Old Man Home Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is pretty straightforward. It is about the nostalgia and bittersweet happiness of an admiral retiring after World War II. In the liner notes to the Bars/Beaches/Boats/Ballads Box set, Buffett said that the ideas to this song came to him while laid up with his third broken leg, watching (in a painkiller haze) the movie The Gallant Hours with James Cagney as Admiral "Bull" Halsey. He kept flashing between the movie and memories of his grandfather and the Officers Club at Pearl Harbor.

I would love to know exactly who Rosa Lee is suppposed to be, though. Somebody from the movie maybe?
