I agree with Spastic Walrus' (what a name, BTW!) comment ~ I think it's about what WOULD happen if a UFO crashed in someone's yard - everybody would be trying to get a piece of the action, making money off it, etc. Ya, people generally try to exploit whatever they can... |

I'm not much for bluesy/southern-style music, I'm more into their rock'n roll sounding songs, but this is such a cool song. I don't know why but it cracks me up. I mean, he writes a songs about cotton balls going rotten! It's too hilarious. |

A really great song. I agree that it's awfully catchy and upbeat for such a dark message, haha. I always assumed it was just about being superstitious about full moons, being paranoid about going out, worried something bad will happen, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if it was written about the Vietnam War tho, since they seemed to write quite a bit on that theme.

I LOVE this song. I am just an "ordinary" working person, but I'm not offended by it. To me, it's like, wouldn't it be nice to be a lazy bum and not work anymore, just "lying in the sun" all day, get away from the daily grind? It's just a fun song. |

Mad Slanted Powers - I like that comment, I always thought it was about a troubled relationship but I also couldn't tell who did the wrong. "Perhaps one did wrong and the other is asking how they would react if the situation was reversed."...Ya, that explains some of the verses...

Oh, BTW, I don't think it's "ba-ba-ba-baby's stupid" at the end, but "baby, it's too late". That's just what it sounds like to me, and I've been listening to this song since I was 5.
