There's also another possibility that no one ever thinks about. Isn't it possible that he had a 'helper' to help him commit suicide. I mean if he did hate his life and want to die, wouldn't you think it'd be easier to have someone help you out? Anyways, I don't believe he killed himself. Usually when people plan on committing suicide, they don't make plans for later. Kurt had plans with Michael Stipe of R.E.M. in Georgia. There's also all the other stuff, on justiceforkurt.com . I believe Michael DeWitt killed him. I think Kurt was contemplating divorce from Courtney and Nirvana, and I think Courtney knew that he wanted a divorce, and I think she was pissed about that and about Kurt refusing to have Nirvana headline Lollapalooza. I think she saw the benefits of killing Kurt and having it look like a suicide. I mean you can see it yourself. If they had divorced, Kurt would've gotten all the Nirvana royalties and would've been set for life. Courtney would've gotten the Lake Washington house and... that's about it. Her career would be over, because let's face it her career was on Cobain's coattails. Instead, Cobain "commits" suicide and Love gets a stake in Nirvana song rights, royalties, she gets Kurt Cobain's diaries, guitars, lyrics, the house, everything. Her career is relaunched due to Cobain's death, and we can all feel sorry for her. Also Michael DeWitt's financial windfall after Cobain's death is a tell all. Anyways who are we all kidding. The truth will never be found, you can believe what you want. It makes no difference if he was killed or if he committed suicide. His music lives on, and effects every single one of us. His soul, his essence was his music, and I think he'd appreciate it if we'd all just shut up, and make some music of our own instead. |

I think nothingsacred is right about some of the lyrics, but I believe it's a combination of the two. I think he's refrencing his father, but also his girlfriend Demri. "You just up and left me on this rock all alone" I think refers to his father, but the second verse "You just left me rotting on this rock all alone" I think refers to his girlfriend dying, because his father left him in childhood, but his girlfriend left him rotting for good. The first parts of both verses seem like visiting heaven and hell, like ductape said, and the chorus is just giving up. Knowing he has nothing left to live for. The guy couldn't even get his fix anymore... he was just preventing himself from dying from withdrawal. I think most people here probably watched the interview where he said he wasn't getting high anymore, he was dope sick, puking and shitting himself all the time. At least he's in a better place now. I definitely hear "So I hear you think I laid down" instead of "So I hear you think highly now." Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I hear. I agree with Melvana on the interpretation also. And props on the name Melvana. |
