Seal – Newborn Friend Lyrics 15 years ago
This song seems to be about person compromising their values (I wash my faith in dirty water), to make life easy (Cause it gives my mind a little order), but not finding fulfillment as a result (But my whole world, slips away.)

The person then decides to change and live according to their own values even without immediate success (I live my life, I live it slowly), but at least they are more fulfilled (I’m livin). This person is willing to try this new way (I would dance with a total stranger) with no regrets so long as he/she is living honestly (Hell, there could be no danger if I open up). The person envisions becoming more valuable to society this way. (I’d be your newborn friend for the world.)

There is no such thing as an easy life. (For life there is no order.) The rest of the 5th stanza elaborates this thought.

There is no such thing as an easy life, (For life there is no order.) especially when you encounters failures for refusing to bend your values- (Cause, I know that feeling when you’ve tried to make your way out. Nothing mends.) this sometimes leads to severe self-criticism and a sense of defeat. etc
