B.B. King – Rock Me Baby Lyrics | 11 years ago |
My version goes like this: Rock me baby Rock me all night long Rock me baby Honey rock me all night long I want you to rock me baby Like my back ain't got no obne Roll me baby Like you roll a wagon wheel Want you to roll me baby Like you roll a wagon wheel Want you to roll me baby You don't know how it makes me feel Rock me baby Honey, rock me slow Hey, rock me pretty baby Baby, rock me slow Want you to rock me baby till I want no more |
Jefferson Airplane – Rock Me Baby Lyrics | 11 years ago |
So basically this song was originally written by B.B. King in 1964 who borrowed the lyrics largely from "Rockin' and Rollin'" (1950) by Lil Son Jackson. The original was more a solo guitar song while King used a blues ensemble. ever since there have been a bunch of covers and interpretations of both in the blues style. |
Jefferson Airplane – Rock Me Baby Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is not the right lyric for this version though I couldn't find it online really so I tried it myself so let me know if it needs correcting as well, I'll change it on my itunes... Will you rock me baby Well, rock me all night long Said rock me baby Well, rock me all night long I want you to rock me mama Lord, like my back ain't got no bone Will you roll your belly baby, like how you, like how you roll the dough Want you to roll your belly baby, like how you roll your dough And I hope that day will never come Lord, when I still can't cry out for more Will you roll me baby Like how you roll your wagon wheel now I want you to roll me baby Like how you roll your wagon wheel now When you roll me mama Lord knows how good it makes me feel Will you rock me baby Will you rock me all night long Will you rock me baby Said rock me all night long I want you to rock me, pretty mama Well, like my back ain't got no... |
Jefferson Airplane – Rock Me Baby Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Love this version! |
Jefferson Airplane – The Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil Lyrics | 11 years ago |
apparently the 'Pooneil' refers to Winnie the POOh, which Kantner (to whom the lyrics are credited) was a fan of, and the 'neil' part would be from "Fred Neil", a folk singer-songwriter of the 60s. |
Cab Calloway & His Orchestra – Minnie the Moocher [The Blues Brothers] Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I'm guessing there are a few versions of this song, where just the "scat" iterations vary, but for my version this is what it goes like: Folks now here's a story 'bout Minnie the Moocher She was a red hot hoochie coocher She was the roughest, toughest frail But Minnie had a heart as big as a whale Ho-dee ho-dee ho (Ho-dee ho-dee ho) Hi-dee hi-dee hi (Hi-dee hi-dee hi) Hee-dee hee-dee hee (Hee-dee hee-dee hee) Ho-dee ho-dee ho (Ho-dee ho-dee ho) She messed around with a bloke named Smokey She loved him though was cokie He took her down to Chinatown And he showed her how to kick the gong around (Showed her how to kick the gong around) Ho-dee ho (Ho-dee ho) Hi-dee hi (Hi-dee hi hi) Wa-dee wee-bo (Wa-dee wee-bo) Ho-dee ho-dee ho (Ho-dee ho-dee ho) She had a dream about the King of Sweden He gave her things that she was needin' He gave her a home built of gold and steel A diamond car with the platinum wheel Wa-dee whoa-dee wey (Wa-dee whoa-dee wey) Oh baby (Oh baby) Wa-dee wa-dee woo (Wa-dee wa-dee woo) Ho-dee ho (Ho-dee ho) He gave her his townhouse and his racing horses Each meal she ate was a dozen courses She had a million dollars worth of nickels and dimes She sat around and counted them all a million times Ho-dee ho-dee (Ho-dee ho-dee) Oh Minnie (Oh Minnie) Oh-dee wey (Oh-dee wey) Oh no (Oh no) Poor Min, poor Min, poor Min |

Fergie – Glamorous Lyrics | 12 years ago |
you know what... I was going through songs on YouTube that i used to be into when I was 12 and when I watched the video for this one I really think this one isn't so bad. I think the "if you ain't got no money..." line is more about reality than it is "WOO I'M RICH STFU UGLY POOR PPL" because of the lines "My daddy told me so... he let his daughter know" - whether literal or not i think it means she just over time had to learn the fact that you have to have some monetary background to make it. the reason it's said so harshly is because that's how it is in the real world too! but the point of the song: despite all that she's still trying to "keep it real". honestly what made me change my mind about this song is the way she points at herself and says "he let his daughter know" |

Belle & Sebastian – A Century of Elvis Lyrics | 12 years ago |
elvis is a dog, and in my interpretation, he thought Elvis was his dad because perhaps his father died when he was younger, and recognized him a bit in this new dog that suddenly seems to appear quite a lot. he may have thought it was his dad's spirit |
The Radio Dept. – Pulling Our Weight Lyrics | 12 years ago |
i like how their some of their songs just have words stringed together. some hardly grammatically correct even, no common theme, but they just work if that was not the intention... my bad |
The Radio Dept. – Pulling Our Weight Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Peter McConnell – Chitlins, Whiskey & Skirt Lyrics | 13 years ago |
so apparently this song is actually by Chitlins, Whiskey & Skirt. Peter McConnell and The Gone Jackals composed the rest of the soundtrack. |
Chitlins, Whiskey & Skirt – Increased Chances Lyrics | 13 years ago |
yeahhh so I credited this already to Peter McConnell on SM (responsible, along with The Gone Jackals, for the Full Throttle Soundtrack otherwise) but imdb and a few other sources I forget credit this one track to Chitlins, Whiskey & Skirt ... so yeah. I'll just repeat what I wrote on the Peter McConnell page here: Sounds like a lonely man's song ... that's why I love it. you can imagine yourself as Todd (in Full Throttle) staying up in that trailer in the middle of nowhere all day all night. but it's not sad... it's kinda funny. |

Stars Of The Lid – Dopamine Clouds Over Craven Cottage Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I don't know why but the beginning sample reminds me so vividly of something- more of a feeling- but i always seem to associate it with floating still in an (empty, other than me)indoor swimming pool where it's kind of cool because of air conditioning, with lots of windows showing the nighttime, and watching a match on a flat-screen, wall-mounted TV that I'm not really paying attention to (because i don't like sports).... even though that's never happened to me. but it's so nostalgic i wonder how many times i've had to sit through them |
Glenn Miller – In The Mood Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Koop – Beyond the sun Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I really like the line: "D’s still there in your old flat makin’ beats and still owns the night. While this street can still shape-shift and make you quicken your pace on a late night return - so I suppose we still have time" it's like a comfort for that familiar nostalgic feeling that hits you randomly sometimes, where you remember a place, and you know you've moved on and so have the rest of the things/people that made that era good ... but he lets her know the street's still retained its power and our friend D is keeping at it, so there's still time of course, I think the whole song is about nostalgia but I can sense it the strongest there and some here: I was back in a bar in New York, lower east side, when you shouted it at her. Maybe it was yourself. Maybe I wasn’t there. Maybe it slipped down between the years.. like that feeling when you're somewhere completely far away from wherever things are happening... and you coulda been there but you just couldn't be bothered to go anywhere but the familiar bar. and your friend has obviously changed too, she's been to South China and whatnot (while you were back in New York), adopted new philosophies, but is now a bit cracked, so would it be worth it to go? that's why you stayed, but you still think about it. in the end you don't care. |
Koop – Beyond the sun Lyrics | 13 years ago |
