Sage Francis – House of Bees Lyrics 14 years ago
Here's the words you missed:

"Surfing the seas of watermarked promo cds [that leaked]"

"They [plunder and] ask but nothing but the hunger to consume"

Hawk Nelson – The One Thing I Have Left Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the last part with the crowd yelling goes like this:

How can I be (the same)
How can I take (the blame)
How come I am so tired of all these charades?
How can I be (the one)
How can I hold (the gun)
How can I see if everyone else is to blame

I'm not sure about the blame line, but I'm pretty sure about "the one", because "be alive" doesn't flow at all with the lyrics in context or rhyme.

I thought this song sounded awesome, so I decided to look up the lyrics. I'm disappointed by them.

It looks like they're first addressing someone hopelessly relying on religion without any real grasp of it. That is not inherently bad to address, but the scope shifts over to viewing Jesus as if he wasn't really important at all.

"Am I a God, or am I Jesus?" So you're saying he wasn't God?

"And you can't deny
That your shit just tastes as sweet as mine
Sweet Jesus"

Sweet Jesus is either said out of exasperation in the form of an expression, or the word "sweet" is heavy sarcasm aimed directly at Jesus.

I'd like to know what the writers intent was, so I can have some sort of closure as to whether these lyrics are noble or ignorant. It is one of the coolest songs I've ever heard, after all. :(

Dream Theater – Blind Faith Lyrics 15 years ago
This doesn't appear to be limited to whether you're smart in Christianity or not, as seen in the lyrics, "And still life pushes on
With or without you
We've got to carry on
Our will, will guide us to
A place where we belong
Know there lies the truth
I am the believer who gives purpose on to you"

The believer giving purpose on to the deity? That sounds pretty opposite of everything Christianity. Not even the idiotic Christians believe something like that.

Dream Theater – The Great Debate Lyrics 15 years ago
"Are you justified in taking life to save life?" I'm thinking they're against it. Most pro-choicers don't even view it as life to begin with, at least not of any consequence.

Dream Theater – Misunderstood Lyrics 15 years ago
The album IS about mental illnesses. Any of you who think this about Jesus must not have read any of the New Testament. He's not sinning, he's not turning from a thief to a beggar, and he didn't look at his time on earth as a surreality. I'm kind of bothered you'd say it's about him without even checking your facts. :/

This has to be about someone important that hit rock bottom. At the very least that is true. This is also a song with better content than 99.99% of "Christian" songs. That's why I think the genre Christian/Inspirational can go screw itself.

Treblinka is a metaphor in context, you know.

Mae – Rocket Lyrics 15 years ago
The lyrics are posted as "Fly away with me", even in the actual album leaf, but listening closely should show that it is being sung, "Die away with me".

This is important (if true) because it adds an entirely new dynamic to the song! The goal is so certain for this couple that they would stake their lives on it, and they plan on meeting their ends together.
