Beyoncé – Halo Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is very easy to interpret:

It's not about God - although I would've loved it to be about Him - and if it relates to you in that way, then take it as such.

This is a girl (or guy) who has been hurt enough to build walls around him/her. She/he doesn't trust her relationships, so when this person meets this "someone" - she/he is very "cautious" at first.

This person even tries to "test" this person to see if they are for real.

Its like Ive been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin
Its the risk that im takin

You know how sometimes people do that "game" to test others to see if they're really sincere. Trust issue. Perhaps Beyonce's character pushed this guy over the edge to see if he would still be committed? Sometimes that's risky - because you don't know if they'll stay committed, but she tested him because she simply had to know for sure. It's a foolish way to be secure, but that's what it meant.

However, this person came to some point in his/her life and they are convince that this special "someone" is indeed the real thing! And the "halo" revelation is that she finally sees that he's a good man! Thus, in the first verse, all her guard is let down without a fight, she trust him.

So with that understanding, I think the rest is self explanatory. :)

IT'S A SONG OBVIOUSLY ABOUT "Communication" WHETHER IT BE BETWEEN A GUY, A GIRL OR WHOEVER. OUR NEED TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER IS SO CRUCIAL, YET, COMMUICATION IS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT THINGS TO DO - BETWEEN CULTURES, GENERATIONS, GENDERS - ETC. KING SOLOMON THE MOST WISEST OF ALL PEOPLE EVEN PRAYED THAT HE WOULD HAVE "An understanding heart..."

SOMETIMES UNDERSTANDING SOMEONE ELSE CAN BE...WELL...FRUSTRATING! AND OFTEN TIMES IT ENDS IN A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP OR THE "Silent Treatment" OR BOTH - BUT OBVIOUSLY THE SINGER IS EXPRESSING THE IDEA THAT WE CAN BE MATURE IN DEALING WITH HOW WE COMMUNICATE AND UNDERSTAND ONE ANOTHER.

I THINK IT RELATES TO EVERYONE - CAUSE EVERYONE WANTS TO WORK ON THEIR RELATIONSHIPS. =)

Leigh Nash – Ocean Size Love Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't think this song is about the death of a loved one, it would be with one exception of the phrase "So if you can't reach out to me, send a sign across the sea..." this person that's distanced themselves can still communicate and better yet, seeks to be understood.

"Ocean" poetically represents an endless distance and isolation - it can be physically but I think it's more feeling distance wise in the heart. I think the context of the song would be for a significant other or a really best friend (Like the sea, like you for me) -

Its the senario when someone is isolating themselves or distancing themselves - they're void of trust and they really need help but they're not there totally-

Maybe they're in a drug addiction or in a depressive state where all hope is lost - I would say that someone who is in a coma or suffering a terminally ill disease would fit better the song.

You know it's a crazy seemingly impossible situation in the very begining when she says that "I know what I'm doing may be dumb, I know I should not be starring at the sun..." She knows she should "let go" of whatever possibility of reconciliation or reaching out to this person - but when she thinks of this person and all that he/she means to her, then she's "tempted" to not give up hope.

As far as this particular person has distanced themselves from her (again, whether on a physical side or a mental side) she's saying that her love for this person is as great and "makes up for" the distance between the two.
