The Weepies – I Was Made For Sunny Days Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Beautiful song! Colbie Caillat's background vocals are also incredible. |
Nellie McKay – A Christmas Dirge Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Unfortunately, it has not been commercially released. You can probably download it online. I have a copy if you'd like. Just send me a message. |
Anna Nalick – Paper Bag Lyrics | 11 years ago |
She is. The lyrics are the same in both songs. |
Justin Bieber – Overboard Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is a good song considering it's by Justin Bieber. His vocals are still "pre-pubescent" and they blend with Jessica Jarrell's vocals quite nicely. The song is catchy and the lyrics are well...pretty cheesy but they work. The meaning of the song is quite obvious if one listens closely to the lyrics. |

Akon – Right Now (Na Na Na) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The "We showed our eyes..." part is kind of confusing. The version is "Right Now (Na Na Na) [Super Clean Version]" and the line goes "We showed ourselves..." I think "eyes" might be "ass" because why would this song need a "super clean version". |
Jennifer Love Hewitt – I believe in Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This song is one of her best (the only downside is that she didn't write it) however the song itself is about how love is real while hate, anger and fighting are wrong. The second verse is about Anne Frank, whose family was taken to a concentration camp by the Nazis during World War II. This is the first time I've heard a reference to the Holocaust and Anne Frank in a pop song. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Tell Me Baby Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I find hilarious that the Radio Edit of the song changes the word "shitty" to "kitty". Haha! |
Aerosmith – Just Push Play Lyrics | 13 years ago |
You have the Radio Remix without the turntables. Instead of editing out the curse words with the turntables, the Radio Remix you have simply changes the words. |
Taylor Swift – Picture to Burn Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The Album Version has the "I'll tell mine you're gay" line while the Pop Radio Edit and the Video Version use "You won't mind if I say". |
Kelly Clarkson – You Thought Wrong (feat. Tamyra Gray) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeah, they do sound similar but I think (from listen to enough Kelly Clarkson songs) that Kelly sings the second part of the first verse. The two alternate. Tamyra Gray sings "I see you're trying to weasel..." and Kelly comes in with "You tell me..." It's an awesome song. |
Jewel – Do You Want To Play? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Randy Newman is a singer/songwriter and composer. He's famous for doing film scores; he wrote the score for the Toy Story movies as well as Cars, Pleasantville and the latest movie The Princess and The Frog. I also have some trouble understanding the lyrics. I think it's about the narrator (Jewel) meeting a struggling artist or something like that. |
Lil' Wayne – Bedrock Lyrics | 14 years ago |
G Spot Call Me Mr.Flintstone I Can Make Your BedRock ^ Really? The song is unbelievably cheesy and shallow. Then again, how surprised am I? Probably not at all. |
Alicia Keys – Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Based on the music video, I think it's about a break-up. However, the song can be interpreted as being hurt by say a friend or a family member as well as a lover. It can also be interpreted as two people having a fight and one dies before a reconciliation can take place. |
Rihanna – Cold Case Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is probably the best song on the album and the best song Rihanna has ever done. Nice job! I love this song despite it's length of 6 minutes (not really a fan of songs over 5 minutes long). Anyways: the lyrics are pretty easy to decipher. She is not only talking about a failed relationship but she is talking about a near-abusive relationship. I mean breaking up with someone is not a "crime"...in this relationship she seemes to have suffered some great hardships. |
Rihanna – Wait Your Turn Lyrics | 14 years ago |
These are the lyrics to the Clean/Video Version of the song so they are not incorrect. |
Mistah F.A.B. – Ghost Ride It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I meant to say: the Video Edit Version cuts out a whole bunch of words and lines* |
Mistah F.A.B. – Ghost Ride It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Well, the meaning of this song is pretty obvious: it's also the reason why the song's been banned from probably the radio and MTV (I've never heard it on the radio). It's about ghost riding: which is basically dancing in a car while it's in motion on neutral. What a weird thing to rap about it. It can also be about the hyphy music movement. I have the Video Edit Version, which a whole bunch of lines and words like: "nigga", "dancing on the hood", "high", "pills", "get out the car" etc (lol). I like the beat though. |
Kevin Rudolf – Let It Rock (feat, Lil Wayne) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I have the No-Rap Version. Just send me a private message with email and I'll send it to you as soon as I can. Thank God some radio stations play the song without Lil Wayne's rap. |
Lady GaGa – LoveGame Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Haha, I'd like to point out that the U.S. Clean Radio Edit censors "ass" and "sex". |
Erin Mccarley – Pony Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is simply amazing. I got it free on iTunes a day before New Year's and I listened to it almost non stop on the first day of 2009. It's perfect as a New Year's Day type of song. It's a song is about doing something new, or at least that's how I interpret it. It's about doing something new, taking a risk, opening up. It can, as irishdoll86 stated be about Erin herself becoming a mainstream singer or attempts to do so. The best part of the song is its opening beat...it sounds like a typewriter, so addictive. |
Beyoncé – Ave Maria Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Unlike "Halo", this song can be about a religious experience (then again the word "baby" is used). "Ave Maria" is basically "Hail Mary" and the prayer "Hail Mary" is sung as a church song in an operatic style. Beyonce's opera-like vocals in this song are amazing. The song's narrator is basically praying for love since she appears lonely and all love seems to pass her by (mainly romantic love but it can be any kind of love really). The song is definitely set in a female's point of view. |
Beyoncé – If I Were a Boy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I like the beat of this song and Beyonce's vocals are great however I think the lyrics are a bit too narrow minded because Beyonce (well the songwriter since Beyonce did not write this) is implying that all guys are insensitive jerks who don't care about the women they love and "kick it with who they want it" and lie and what not. There are guys out there who are sensitive and loving and there are girls out there who act like the guys in this song. The music video's kind of cool though...Beyonce and her husband/boyfriend switching roles. |
Beyoncé – Halo Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree with songburdie, this song is probably not about a religious experience (or else the word "baby" would not have been used...who refers to God or to Jesus or to any religious figure in a clearly romantic fashion). This song is more than likely a song about finding love: romantic love (since this is a common theme in Beyonce's music). One can also interpret this song as being about finding love in general like say a real close friendship. |
Kevin Rudolf – Let It Rock (feat, Lil Wayne) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow, Kevin Rudolf said it was about Jesus and Judas, and betrayal!? That's some pretty deep stuff for a Pop song. Anyways, Lil' Wayne kind of ruins the song with the rap. I was lucky to get ahold of a Non-Rap version with just Kevin Rudolf's vocals. |
Fiction Plane – If Only Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song from the first time I heard it in the movie "Holes". In case anyone's wondering the song plays at the end credits. Anyways: the song is basically a 3 minute run-down of the main plot in the novel: the story of Yelnats family and the curse that has followed them through the years since Elya Yelnats (Stanley's great-great-grandfather) forgot to keep his promise to Madame Zeroni. |
Sara Paxton – Here We Go Again Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song's pretty amazing. Sara's a pretty decent vocalists. The meaning is kind of simple: it's about a person who is in a kind of "outside looking in" situation. The narrator is in love or longs to be close or get to know another person. |
Michelle Branch – Together Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is Michelle Branch's newest song; it is featured on the soundtrack for movie "The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants 2". The meaning is pretty simple: it's a song about friendship and love. |
Weird Al Yankovic – The Saga Begins Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's obviously a parody of Don McLean's "American Pie". Also, it is basically a song sung from Obi-Wan's point of view in the movie "Star Wars Episode I", however some parts take some creative liberties (for example: Obi-Wan never saw Anakin do the pod race). |
Alicia Keys – Tell You Something (Nana's Reprise) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is probably one of the most beautiful songs Alicia Keys has ever written and recorded. I loved it. The track listing for the album lists this song as "Tell You Something (Nana's Reprise)", 'Nana' could most definitely be a grandmother, she most likely wrote this song to her grandmother. The overall song is about spending time with and letting a certain special someone know how you feel about them (it doesn't have to be a romance it could be a family member or a friend). |
Gavin Rossdale – Love Remains the Same Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Oh and uh...the lyrics are a little sloppy...here's a more detailed copy of the lyrics. A thousand times I've seen you standing Gravity like a lunar landing Make me want to run till I find you Shut the world away from here, drift to you You're all I hear Everything we know fades to black Half the time the world is ending Truth is I am done pretending I never thought that I had any more to give Pushing me so far here I am without you Drink to all that we have lost Mistakes we have made Everything will change But love remains the same Find a place where we escape Take you with me for a space A city bus that sounds just like a fridge Walk the streets through seven bars I had to find just where you are The faces seen to blur They're all the same Half the time the world is ending Truth is I am done pretending I never thought that I had any more to give You're pushing me so far here I am without you Drink to all that we have lost Mistakes we have made Everything will change But love remains the same So much more to say So much to be done Don't you trick me out We shall overcome Cause our love stays ablaze We should have had the Sun Could have been inside Instead we're over here Half the time the world is ending Truth is I am done pretending Too much time to love defending You and I are done pretending I never thought that I had any more to give You're pushing me so far here I am without you Drink to all that we have lost Mistakes that we have made Everything will change Everything will change I.. oh, I I wish This could last forever I... oh, I As if We could last forever Love remains the same Love remains the same |
Gavin Rossdale – Love Remains the Same Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I was never really a Bush fan (well, I've heard of them), I only liked "Glycerine" by them. Anyways: this is quite a surprise. This song is actually beautiful! I hear it on the radio all the time. The meaning is obvious: it's a love song, the tone of it makes it sound as if the narrator/singer is yearning for love and not just a "pretend" (possibly unrequited love). |
Vanessa Carlton – Private Radio Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The song is about insomnia or mental anguish caused by insomnia. This song's R&B counterpart seems to be "Disturbia" by Rihanna. I can't help but think the two songs share the same lyrical themes. |
Rihanna – Disturbia Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Well, I looked up "Disturbia" on Dictionary.com and well, no hits but just looking at the words and seeing as how there's a suspense/horror movie by that name, I'm guessing this song despite it's infectious dance/club beat is actually a very dark song. The song seems to be about something eerie, like an eerie feeling that you're not alone or that you're being watched. The lyrics could fit in with schizophrenia, depression, insomnia or any slew of psychological disorders or even spiritual possession. "Disturbia" is a state of mental anguish and confusion. I'd like to think it's deeper than a song about a break-up. The song's lyrics are kind of similar to a song by (surprisingly) Vanessa Carlton called "Private Radio" which is about mental anguish caused by insomnia...hmmm. |
Natasha Bedingfield – Put Your Arms Around Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Beautiful song! The beat and the enunciation of the lyrics are amazing. Another pretty self-explanatory song: it's about falling in love and having the person you are in love with close to you. |
Natasha Bedingfield – Not Givin' Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Self-explanatory based on the lyrics. It's about not wanting to let a relationship go sour. |
Alanis Morissette – Wunderkind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It is written from the point of view of Lucy Pevensie. |
Gavin DeGraw – We Belong Together Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Lyrics to the album version: We belong together Like the open seas and shores Wedded by the planet's floors If heaven may strike Me dead on the ground And nail to my hand The cross on this crown We're done if who we're undone Finished if we are incomplete As one we are everything We are everything we need We belong together Like the open seas and shores Wedded by the planet's floors We've all been spoken for What good is a life With no one to share The light of the moon The honor of a swear A kingdom of men Who is hollow within Without depth Without a care That it takes to make a perfect love The passion to find the utter truth To visualize the straight from the askew To treat a common comfort more than you Will you try to live the way in which you speak Taste the milk of your Mother Earth's love Spread the word of the consciousness you seek We are everything we need We belong together Like the open seas and shores Wedded by the planet's floors We've all been spoken for Spoken for Spoken for Oh... We belong together Like the open seas and shores Wedded by the planet's floors We've all been spoken for All this indecision All this independent shame Still we've got our hearts on safe We've got our hearts on safe Someday when you're lonely Sometime after all this bliss Somewhere lost in emptiness I hope you find this gift I hope you find this gift I hope you find this gift |
Gavin DeGraw – We Belong Together Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Note: the person who posted the lyrics messed them up. There are two versions of the song. The version used for "Tristan & Isolde" and the album version which is off of "Gavin DeGraw" (the 2008 album). Anyways: I think this song is not just about romance but of love in general and how universal and life changing it can be. There are some clear Christian references and themes as well as some of metaphysics. This verse from the Bible comes to mind, it's from the Gospel of Matthew: "I am with you always, even til the end of time". |
Alana Grace – The Other Side Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Alana is a very powerful singer/songwriter who doesn't seem to hold back. This song is obviously a breaking-free anthem and finding comfort on "the other side". |
Lily Allen – Smile Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is quite the sadistic song, but the melody sounds so upbeat and happy. It's basically about an ex whom she obviously hates and it brings her pleasure that her ex is miserable. |
Sara Bareilles – City Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The meaning of this song is actually quite simple: it's about being lost in a strange place (in this case the city of L.A.) and coming across very unlikeable people who will try to end you or become obstacles in your life who have the guise of friends ("wolves whispering Hollywood's name"). The piano version is beautiful, but the album version (from "Little Voice") is incredibly beautiful with its mellow instrumentation and a kickass guitar solo. |
Simple Plan – Your Love Is a Lie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well...the song meaning's pretty obvious. It's about a guy who's being cheated on whether it be a simple boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, an engagement or a marriage. What gets me is the fact that the guitar and the overall beat of the song sounds a bit like Oasis' "Wonderwall". A friend of mine pointed that out when we heard it on the radio: he thought it was Oasis. |
Shakira – Te Dejo Madrid Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Hey guys, I'm fluent in Spanish therefore I will tell you all what the song's about: It's basically about a woman who has some sort of fling in the city of Madrid, Spain. Te Dejo Madrid translates to "I am Leaving You, Madrid" |
Tracy Chapman – America Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is basically about the "New World Order" that has come about after 9-11 and of course the "controversial" Bush Administration. Here Tracy Chapman is comparing the U.S. and Bush to the conquistadors of the 1500's and 1600's. |
Vanessa Carlton – Who's to Say Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is a beautiful song that Vanessa herself said is "dedicated it to anyone in a relationship that's unapproved of by their mother or government". This means it is a song that deals with a love and/or relationship that is not accepted by society (i.e. could be interracial, interreligious or same-sex) |
Chantal Kreviazuk – Waiting Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is indeed beautiful and Michelle Branch on backing vocals just adds to that beauty. It's a very mellow pop almost country type song that from what I understand is about a person being unable to let go of someone or something that is troubling them and "waiting" for either a resolve to whatever is troubling the person or things to simply fall apart causing the person to figuratively speaking wither and die. |
Vanessa Carlton – Come Undone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is to me one of Vanessa's most beautiful songs. It's quirky and catchy and I love the instrumentation. It is basically about a person in love and how the loved one makes the person "come undone" and the person will do anything to be with the loved one. "Sycophantic courtier" means a person who will do anything to please. "Fashionista's garden party well I had enough of that" basically means that the person in love is a simple one. It is a song about how love can be simple. |
