he has a lot of insightful commentary in this song, but i think he completely loses it halfway through his second verse. right around the white boy part. i recite black people lyrics verbatim, i'll admit. but i don't go around calling people niggas. that's mainly because i'm not allowed. if everyone would stop making such a big deal out of it the word would stop getting used anyway. |

i actually really like cyhi's verse a lot. it's not really impressive at first, but i think his lines spell out the purpose of the song better than any one else's verse (besides maybe kanye's). which is, i think the song's about how materialistic and just straight-up DUMB hip hop has got, thanks to artists like lil wayne and his 100,000 trap-rap proteges |

but why would it be yellow magic orchestra, the rest of the song is about shitty bands, hence 'low magic' ?? of course, their lyrics don't necessarily make a lot of sense, but "a photocopier and yellow magic orchestra" just doesn't seem right to me |

i was kind of disappointed by this at first, but then the chorus hit me (pun intended) and i was awestruck. beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. i still prefer their acoustic yellow house sound, but as long as the songs end up beautiful, i guess i don't mind.
maybe this is just what they do live. after all, they destroyed little brother live. maybe this will be amazing and epic on the album, or maybe not. rant rant rant |
