great song, very atmospheric and innovative.
About Bowies sexuality, I've heard it mentioned that he did'nt shave until he was 28 and it was then that he, apparently, stopped experimenting with bisexuality. So maybe it was a testosterone thing. His voice noticably deepened too. He could never have sung the Ziggy album in the same key at 30. |

A friend of mine told me that this was inspired by the near death experience had by stunt rider Eddie Kidd. It makes sense when you go through the song:-" Two jumps in a week,..broke another mirror, drying up in conversation, insides fall to peices" etc.. Eddie is better now but still cant talk properly. I wonder if Tom knew him? |

this song was written in 1987, when thom was on holiday in berlin. It shows how big cities can make you feel sad, and inadiquette. Berlin was half destroyed in the war and has lots of modern plastics in it too. |
