Missy Higgins – Peachy Lyrics 16 years ago
"No of course you don't, of course you don't"; she's being very facetious about it, at the very least! She's pissed that their relationship seems to have rolled off him like water off a duck's back but she suspects that he's talking out of his arse because she's being quite sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek about the whole thing.

Rob Thomas – Little Wonders Lyrics 17 years ago
This song really confirmed the way I've been feeling since a recent break up - the hardest part is over - that initial chemical withdrawal of those incredible 'in love' endorphins - sorry, is that a drab, unromantic interpretation of love? - and yeah, sure, grief isn't a linear process, but every little triumph, every small moment where I do choose between negativity and believing for a great future regardless, these little wonders, moments of strength and resilience that no one sees but me, the clarity that comes with a clean break instead of continually returning to get that momentary rush again, all of these I let define me.

Foo Fighters – Best Of You Lyrics 17 years ago
I think the cool thing about lyrics is that you can interpret them in different ways to meet you at different moments. When this song came out I was in a mediocre relationship and the song challenged me because I kept hearing, "Is someone getting the best OF YOU?" as in, Are you giving them your best?" and I had to be honest and say no. Then, it finally hit me months and months later that it meant "Is someone getting the best of you", like Are you taking up emotional energy thinking of someone who doesn't deserve the time of day? By this time we'd broken up and I'd since discovered he had been cheating on me over a period of two years and this line AGAIN helped me to deal with getting over such a huge terrible discovery but for completely different reasons...all because I interpreted the same line differently!

Nelly Furtado – All Good Things Lyrics 17 years ago
I know a few people have commented that the "But really, life is daily" line is obscure; I think it's kind of like the quote, "Life is what happens when we're making other plans"; she's saying she doesn't like reality, but it's happening every day, life is happening every day, and she's been living unconsciously, only stopping to reflect at the "exits", the big moments, like on autopilot.
I don't really understand all of the dog/moon imagery, we can only look at the facts and interpret from there...dogs howl at FULL moons, they don't bark at NEW moons, do they? I guess something about transformation, cycles, seasons, something like that...any more ideas?
