Bon Jovi – Say It Isn't So Lyrics 15 years ago
Pretty much what the above said, but nobody really specified that it's about a girl that's cheating on the singer, and him trying to play blind to it (like the childhood naivety trying to play blind).

John Mellencamp – Hurts So Good Lyrics 17 years ago
You all got it wrong. It's actually about S&M. Sadism & Masochism -- deriving sexual pleasure from torture and pain. You know, with the whips and the kinky leather and all that shit. It's pretty common practice, really.

He's gotten tired of plain old regular sex, so he's getting into that kinky S&M stuff. Listen to the lyrics, "sink your teeth into my bones". Hence the cry of pain in the song.

The Doobie Brothers – Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me) Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song. I absolutely love Blues-Rock, and there's not enough of it. This song does great justice for the genre.

The Doobie Brothers – Jesus Is Just Alright Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm really not surprised that this song was the crowd favorite. I always believed it was the most well-known song by this group.

It's a fun melody, but the lyrics are pretty cheesy. A bit over-rated.

Hooters – 500 Miles Lyrics 17 years ago
You're a fucking idiot. This was originally a folk song from like the 50s or 60s. Not to mention that Bad Astronaut formed /way after/ The Hooters produced this song.

Bachman-Turner Overdrive – Let It Ride Lyrics 17 years ago
I thought it was always "Try, try, try to let it ride" Listen to again, it sounds right.

Love the song though.

Rush – Summertime Blues Lyrics 17 years ago
This is such a great cover. I love this song way more than any other version. You can just crank this song so loud and yet it's still never loud enough.

Hooters – Where Do The Children Go Lyrics 17 years ago
Obvious reference to the Pied Piper of Hamelin.

Hooters – South Ferry Road Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh, and it's obviously about a nostalgic man who's "going down" South Ferry Road, which conjures up many romantic images of a girl he once knew and loved.

Jerry Reed – Amos Moses Lyrics 17 years ago
Ah, just remembered a better term for it. Swamp rock.

Hooters – South Ferry Road Lyrics 17 years ago
This is a VERY good song. In my opinion, it's the most underrated Hooters song.

Jerry Reed – Amos Moses Lyrics 17 years ago
It's not really a country song, you know. It's more of a... cajun song. Cajun rock, maybe.

Awesome song though. Damn catchy.

Styx – Come Sail Away Lyrics 17 years ago
Taken from songfacts.com:

"This contains an allusion to the Bible verse of Ezekiel chapter 1:1-28 where a large wheel/cloud (depending on text) appears to Ezekiel and gives him instructions from God: "A gathering of angels appeared above my head. They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said... (later in song)... I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise, they climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies." Some people believe the figure Ezekiel saw was not a messenger sent from God but an alien space craft or a time machine from the future."

Seems plausible. Sorry if I ruined the song for anyone :P

The Outfield – Say It Isn't So Lyrics 17 years ago
I was thinking the exact same thing Cardiff Giant was thinking. Good call, old bean!

Great song, also.

Van Halen – Dance The Night Away Lyrics 17 years ago
Although this doesn't have the typical Van Halen sound, it's my favourite VH song.

Van Halen – Jamie's Cryin' Lyrics 17 years ago
SRV Blues got it.

Alex has said that this is his least favourite Van Halen song. Maybe he never actually played the drums for, or heard any song from Van Halen III =D

Hooters – And We Danced Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song. As Smokler said, it seems to be about nostalgia for young love.

This is just my take on it: the singer sees his old sweetheart hanging on to some other guy, and they both spot eachother and start dancing and get caught up again in old times.

The Hooters are seriously underappreciated. I've gotten some of my friends into them. Great band.

The Allman Brothers Band – Blue Sky Lyrics 17 years ago
Love this song. I adore listening to it just after I wake up on a calm, sunny Sunday or Saturday morning.

The Allman Brothers Band – One Way Out Lyrics 17 years ago
I can't believe this song doesn't have more comments! Truly a great song. There's a serious lack of blues-rock music out there. There should be more great songs like this.

Scout – All I Want Is You Lyrics 17 years ago
I absolutely love this song. Great job.

Lynyrd Skynyrd – All I Can Do Is Write About It Lyrics 17 years ago
"I seriously think about moving into the country after hearing this song."

I pretty much live in the country anyways, but this song makes me want to move further out in the country, too :)

REO Speedwagon – Take It on the Run Lyrics 17 years ago
I always thought it was about a man who's heard that his girlfriend is cheating on him, and because he thought that they were perfect together, and that he really understood her, he couldn't picture her cheating on him. Thus, he's appealing for her to tell him the truth.

Squeeze – Up The Junction Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song. It starts off so romantic and beautiful, with a happy tune, and then all of a sudden there's a dramatic switch, and the poor bugger's life is shattered. Great song.
