Man, wouldn't it be nice if Roaddogg had actually posted the correct lyrics? Don't mean to be picky or anything, but how hard is it, really?
On topic, Slow Ride is a pretty good song, with Shepherd providing a solid guitar. Lyrically thought, it's not too deep. I'm sure all of you can guess what the song is about...
All in all a decent song. |

I think that the Raven personifies Doubt. The way that it is ever-present in the background, yet always shrouded with nets of shadows, strengthens this claim. Doubt is also removed only by our own actions, thus the line, "no words can soothe him, no prayer remove him." When the Raven speaks of "Nevermore," he is saying that the opportunities to rectify past doubts are long-gone, and that there is nothing that can be said by any man to soothe the what-ifs of our past. |

It sounds as though the singer is making the common Thoreau message of "simplify, simplify." A free spirit should be kept sacred above all else, despite society's urge to crush it. After having his spirit violated so, the speaker appears to have lost his identity, as indicated by the final line, "Please tell me who I am." For by allowing others to shape him, he has forgotten who he once was. |

No kidding; thanks for submitting the correct lyrics. I was looking at this song and going, "Wtf is that what Sage is really saying?" Although I agree with the others on how this song could be about Sage fighting through oppression to break through his shell and pursue his real dream: hip-hop, although I'm still left wondering on why he's comparing it to one of a magicians. |
