Sam Sparro – Black and Gold Lyrics | 16 years ago |
as far as i can tell he's talking about the gold of stars and the black of the surrounding night sky (even though stars don't really look very gold) i cant decide if this song is supposed to be romantic or waaaay religious either way i digg it |
Joanna Newsom – Esme Lyrics | 16 years ago |
esame means examination in italian. im not sure if that's where she drew the name from. either way the song is beautiful |
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Art Star Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song reminds me of the whole hip hop thing of bragging endlessly about how much cash you have and the like instead its the rock stars of the art world bullshitting about how awesome they are. mixing worlds a bit. im not sure if thats what ms O was getting at but thats what i take from it |
Menomena – Wet and Rusting Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Vetiver – Belles Lyrics | 17 years ago |
dont worry rare, you're not the only one. sometimes i have to stop what im doing when this song comes on my ipod and just listen to it so i dont miss anything it elicits some odd looks, but hey they're missing out. |
Songs: Ohia – Peoria Lunchbox Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
god, this song tears me up. i don't exactly know what the lyrics are about other than heartache shared by close friends. an element of danger, an element of futility this song as well as cat power's 'good woman' have been ranking high on my list of things of powerful sadness lately |
The Rolling Stones – Ruby Tuesday Lyrics | 17 years ago |
maybe this isnt the intended message, but the whole thing really just seems like a metaphor for existence. ruby could be a girl or just daily life. there is nothing to the past, there is nothing to hang on to. life is essentially meaningless: "She just can't be chained to a life where nothing's gained and nothing's lost at such a cost" everything is transient: "When you change with every new day Still I'm gonna miss you" yet is still beautiful so live freely and experience everything as fully as possibly while you still have the opportunity to breath. this song makes me simultaneously blissful and incredibly melancholy. but i suppose im just projecting my own feelings onto this. plus i was listening to the version from children of men rather than the rolling stones original so that might have something to do with it. |

Panda Bear – Comfy in Nautica Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Panda Bear – Comfy in Nautica Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"ill need because i'm new to it" |
Joanna Newsom – Only Skin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
you guys will have to forgive me, i've never been very good at interpreting poetry. what do you all suppose this song is about? something about a son who goes away / is lost / dies / is starving, and her love for him? and a bird that comes back to life? i like this song a lot, but its hard for me to wrap my head around the whole thing |
The Microphones – Universe (5) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song to me deals with absolute acceptance and appreciation of existence as it is. everything is beautiful, everything is terrible, and its all ok as long as you take it in stillness. so pretty. |
Grizzly Bear – Fix It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is my favorite song from horn of plenty. it seems to reflect on the wish that things could have been slightly different after losing someone. pretty. |
