i really do believe that this is a political song. ibi is short for ibtesam, an arabian name meaning "smiling". "if love is what they gave/ turning wives into heroes/ don't get high off what you create/it just might steal ya" i'm not sure, but maybe they're reflecting on ethnocentrism. if the middle eastern tradition of beating their wives was changed, the survivors would be heroes. but the husbands still love their wives, there's just no respect for women there. and you can't think that you live in the perfect world (americans in the us), or it's gonna consume you, you damn ethnocentrist. |

i'm pretty sure the rapper says "get inbetween the FORK and the finger" i'm more than sure that this is about evolution. we invented for ourselves things to die on (drugs, rollercoasters) to make living more fun i think "her" is life. he lives life on the edge, makes his toasts to the present (and this ties to the reference of drug use in other songs) and he recognizes his past, just doesn't dwell on it in the human machine, get inbetween what we've made (the fork) and what seperates us from the animals (they use their fingers) at the break of the evolution we're going to linger forever! |
