Cajun Dance Party – The Race Lyrics | 16 years ago |
sorry, accidently deleted some of that, I meant to say: I agree, I think that he is frightened of change, and is looking for excuses not to, maybe he wants it to be perfect when he does move. The bit that goes "the sun will shine, even if you don't happen to be there"- maybe it's that life goes on without the other person, and if he does go ahead and make this change, moving on, it means having to leave the other person and he wants to avoid making that descision by saying, i need new shoes for the race, etc, etc- maybe it's about having to grow up. At the end, he decides that it isn't worth running the race if it means losing this person. Just an idea. |

Little Man Tate – Suicide Tuesday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yeah, I noticed that...thought it was rather sweet and sad at the same time. |
The Courteeners – What Took You So Long? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is a silly song. There is ALWAYS a queue at the post office. |
Pull Tiger Tail – Loki God of Mischief Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is such a great song, I think the full title is Loki God Of Mischief. I think it's basically about the pressures of being the artist that brings in the money, and is being pushed and pushed and pushed just to get more money, and is basically a money making machine, but obviously a lot darker and deeper than that. |
Pull Tiger Tail – Animator Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Such a good song, made even better now I know the actual lyrics. I agree with our lady of sorrrows as to the meaning. |
Los Campesinos! – Don't Tell Me to Do the Math(s) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
fantastic song. i think it must be a bit about american people cos the chorus is 'please don't tell me to do the math' and 'you do the math' is an american phrase. |
Air Traffic – Shooting Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |
ah hah! done it. |
The Maccabees – About Your Dress Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree with the above person, and also possibly starting his first proper relationship, and isn't sure what to do so he looks at other young lovers to copy their example- maybe a relationship conforming to the mould of every other relationship- "I’m guessing it’s just what all young lovers do" and the arguments too- "Never wrong never right". |
Air Traffic – Shooting Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |
how do I change the lyrics that I've put up, or is it not possible? |
Winterkids – Tape It Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I've put some winterkids lyrics up |
Arctic Monkeys – Wavin' Bye to the Train or the Bus Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah, i agree with surly 74 about the bloody mary lyric, i was about to post the same thing. i don't think nessecarily that the woman is in her 40s, i just think maybe she's young and settled down too quickly possibly? |
Air Traffic – Shooting Star Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ashley16- yes that makes so much more sense! I listened to it over and over again going "WHAT ON EARH IS HE SINGING????"...thank you! anyway, great song! |
The Holloways – Fit for a Fortnight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Story pretty much explained in the song. A classic! But the lyrics are really wrong: "Well I've got the same phrase For any of the boys Who line up girls Like nothing for the choice Come to the club girl, I'll get you on the list I'll get myself a new one when I get you on the piss" Should be: "Well I can't sing praise for any of the boys who line up girls like multiple choice, 'Come to the club girl I'll get you on the list and I'll get myself on you when I get you on the piss'" "She said I passed myself by day" should be "She said I'd passed my sell-by-date" and "Calm has come to take me out on a date" should be "Karma's come to take me out for a date" |
Good Shoes – The Photos On My Wall Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I just think that it's a song about a phone conversation with his girlfriend...he says something in passing that hurts her and suddenly everythings bad, they are having an argument. He just wants to leave it...he "nods", but obviously she doesn't know that. He knows he could make more effort with her, but he doesn't. He feels her pain, but doesn't try and make things better. He knows he's arrogant, but he doesn't try and change that. |
Good Shoes – Nazanin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't think that it needs to be read into as much as that. It's a simple song, a perfect song. |
The Maccabees – Precious Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |
What a BRILLIANT song!!! I especially like the last line..."because time can mean so much, are you still mine?" |
Patrick Park – Something Pretty Lyrics | 17 years ago |
AMAZING song, although I missed it on the OC...which episode was it in? |
The Holloways – Reinvent Myself Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Couple of corrections- its "Sometimes I get SO TIRED I just can't sleep and its "with the PISTOLS just like a sex machine". Anyway love the song, especially the line "And I think Mr. blair is causing anarchy YOU (correction!) can hear him singing god save the queen with the pistols like a sex machine" Sorry I know im nit-picking a bit on the corrections. |
The Enemy – Away From Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |
brill song, absolutely fantastic...love the message- I don't think that I really need to talk about what it's about really? I mean, it's pretty obvious... |
The Libertines – Can't Stand Me Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
where exactly on the site? have been searching for ages but can't find it :( |
Little Man Tate – This Must Be Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Great song, has a kind of sad feel to it though as he is singing "this must be love" and then near the end she breaks up with him because he can't say that he loves her...ah well great tune. |
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – I-Spy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
In my opinion it is simply saying that this is a song without a hidden depth- I think that is the whole point of the song, saying why does every song have to have a meaning, why can't it just be a song? Anyway everyone is welcome to their own opinion I think. |
Larrikin Love – Happy As Annie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It is a very romantic picture: "I was softly touched by a warm summer breeze There were blue tits flocking and swerving My accuracy is quite unnerving " But life is not wonderful like this, girls getting raped and killed happens. And he wants to protect the children, but it's not that easy so he has to settle with warning them. |
Stereophonics – Since I Told You It's Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
what a beautiful song. |
Stereophonics – A Thousand Trees Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree. I think that the songs were a lot better when they were writing about stuff they really knew, but that inspiration can only last so long. They have a couple of ok recent songs from the last 3 albums, eg since i told you its over, however i cannot find one single good song on LSVO?. |
The Feeling – Rose Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought that the original comment "England...UK to be exact" was an intentional joke. In the XFM Winter Wonderland, the lead singer said that the song was originally about alcohol, then about sexual confusion, then he realised that the 2 kind of go hand in hand. I don't agree that it's about being gay, eddie123456, as you have no evidence apart from the song title to back that up. And I always thought that it was "I won't drink for no other lover" not "I won't drink from no other, never" |
The Feeling – Fill My Little World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought it was "maybe it's all too much, how can we solve it?" and "maybe I'm not in love, maybe you're just too..." but I guess for the second one the one posted makes more sense. I can't believe I have been singing the wrong lyrics all this time! Anyway I do not think that the song is a metaphor for sex but is about a girl and they are going out but she doesn't really show her feelings, and he needs reassurance that she does like him, and needs her to show feelings. |

Bloc Party – On Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I just thought that the use of "charm" in both songs was lack of vocab rather than linking the two songs. |
The View – Wasted Little DJs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
No, it's Pig Latin. |
Super Furry Animals – Hello Sunshine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah, a minger (in england) is known as someone disgusting. I agree with above person partly, and also I think that it's kind of a mock love song, like "if you fled a million miles I'd chase you for a day if I could be bothered", like a satire. Settling for what you can get, really. |
The Libertines – Can't Stand Me Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Where do you get the different versions from????? |
Scott Matthews – Elusive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think that this is about a man with a dream of a perfect girl, and he wants it so bad she finally comes real and alive to him, but she isn't real, she's elusive, he can never have her and he has to except this and move on. Anyway, the realisation that this girl is impossible, causes this line: "If it's true, I am doomed, What more is there to hold on to?" He uses this vision to get through bad times, when he feels that there is nothing else, and without her he is nothing. That is my interpretation anyway. Everyone is open to their own opinions. This is a beautiful song. |
The Zutons – I Know I'll Never Leave Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with alameals...thinking about it, it must be a drug addiction. It's a horrible world, the singer can't find a way out and he doesn't know where he can go so he can finally leave them behind. There is a kind of desperation about this song. The people that never say hello that just walk on past and the ones that are in the cars with the blackened windows are so-called 'ordinary' people that choose to ignore such addicts as if they don't exist. the only companion he has is the drunk man, and he can't help the singer as he is in a similar situation. He cannot leave, he has no money as he has sold his TV and radio to get money for more drugs. I may be completely wrong though, it could just be a bad neighbourhood. (I hope not!!) |
The Zutons – Secrets Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I partly agree with person above me, but I think that the singer thinks that everyone should keep their secrets to thelselves because everyone has them, and if they were all out it would be a mess of everyones problems. I think that the singer is telling you that you are not the only one to have problems, and just because you have them does not mean that everyone needs to know. That's my interpretation anyway- there isn't a wrong or right interpretation of any song. |
Larrikin Love – Well, Love Does Furnish a Life. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The end of the Jamie T section is definitly, "I guess someone had to be lost to really be found" |
Bloc Party – Where Is Home? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I want to stamp on the face of every young policeman To break the fingers of every old judge To cut off the feet of every ballerina" I think this bit is the person feeling that if they will treat him like a criminal just by his skin colour then of course he will want to rebel against the system, and by doing this of course he is just living up to the stereotype that young policemen have against him. This is why he can't, as he goes on to say. (I hope that you understand what I am trying to say) As for the ballerina bit, I think that this is the speaker getting angry as typically ballerina costumes and shoes are pink, designed to go with white skin- does this make sense? I do not know how you managed to relate this song to Anna Nicole Smith, person a bit above me. |
Razorlight – Vice Lyrics | 17 years ago |
(sorry that's meant to be 'that's why he CAN'T say love') |
Razorlight – Vice Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't think that the album is about youth. I don't know why, it just doesn't fit. Razorlight's music is good, but the lyrics aren't exactly ground breaking stuff. As for the meaning of Vice, I thought that it was pretty obvious. The guy can't do commitment, and dumps a girl at the first sign of "love" ("but if it's LOVE I'll see you later"). This is his Vice, thus the title. That is why he say love and must spell it out L-O-V-E in the chorus, and he can't actually say it until the end of the song. Talking of which, the end bit is missed out here so I shall post it for you: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Yes I'll see you later I'll see you sometime I'll see you there And you know, you know You cannot touch love with a cynical feeling no You cannot touch love unless you do believe in Oh love love love knows no cynical feeling See you later, see you sometime sometime It's just like that Sometimes you run sometimes you fall Sometimes you can sometimes you can't Ring that number back it's 07761010233 Oh ring it off the wall Ring it right back Ring it right back Ring it right back Ring it right back Oh it's just like |
Razorlight – America Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't not like razorlight's new songs because they are now mainstream. I simply think that they have lost all flaw that the songs on Up all night had. The new album is a lazy pop album that doesn't mean a thing- the self title says it all (that and borrell's arrogance). I like bands that are main stream. I just think that the new stuff is TERRIBLE, with America being the worst as it thinks its saying something really important and ground breaking when in fact it actually doesn't make a single grain of sense- Borrell seems to think that as long as he stays quite vague in his lyrics then people will infer their own meanings and think that the song is amazing. |
Klaxons – Atlantis to Interzone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
is it just me or does the "DJ!" bit sound exactly like the dj exclamation that comes out whenever you accidently touch the DJ button on an electric keyboard?? |
Razorlight – America Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I completely agree with you Javier Mascherano- these lines seem to be randomly thrown together and the lyrics are so so so bad- paticularly the ones you mentioned in your post. |
Milburn – Lipstick Lickin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song so much! |
Jamie T – Sheila Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Oh, so so so so so so much better than the streets. Sheila is my favourite jamie t song by far. |
Jamie T – If You've Got The Money Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought it was quite funny... |
Jack Penate – Torn on the Platform Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song so so so much...why has no one else posted anything? I'm guessing it's about a person who has to go somewhere but doesn't want to leave London so he wants to miss the train so he has an excuse not to leave. |
The Zutons – Oh Stacey (Look What You've Done) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought that the mother was dead too...? |
The Zutons – How Does It Feel? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
have to agree with obsessed...love the 'same questions' bit. |
