Mooosey: Go get out your Hybrid Theory and Meteora albums and listen to them. You obviously love those CDs, so listen to them. A lot of bands make albums that stray from the norm, but that doesnt mean that you cant still enjoys all of their work they have done before too. Take the Smashing Pumpkins for example. They went through the exact same thing after Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadenss, after that album they made a much different sounding Adore album, and an attempted recovery album in Machina the Machines of God. I loved it all, but others did not. Now they are back and ready to release another CD. Should they endlessly critique themselves as to try to please everyone? Or should they make music that they enjoy? This applies to Linkin Park too, if they stop making music they enjoy and just conform to their own self imposed style or sound, then they wont be around very long because it will show in their music that they dont enjoy themselves anymore. If you ask me, they seem to have had the most fun making this album of any that they have done. I am looking forward to the Reanimation 2 album. Should be great stuff. |

| the song is good and all, but musically it never goes anywhere, but since LP knows exactly how to create a song to show how they feel, doesnt that say something? I was waiting during this entire song for it to "explode". Maybe, and it does agree with the lyrics, they pulled off something pretty cool with this song. They had the music reflect the meaning of the song, it goes nowhere. I like it for that at least. | |

To all of you that say this isnt Linkin Park: Wake up! Linkin Park makes whatever kind of music they want to. They always have, and always will. I for one have the exact same taste in music as they do, so I know I will never dislike anything they produce. If you wanted them to make another HT or Meteora, then maybe you should listen to Meteora and HT more. I for one was ready for some change after 7 years of rage and aggression. I have changed as a person and so have they. There is nothing wrong with them making different music, especially since it is fucking awesome. Try listening to these songs without paying attention to any of the lyrics at all. They are amazing musical masterpieces. As for this song, if this album would have been released in February I might not have been able to listen to this album ever again. On the eve of Valentines day I found out that my ex had died. She was my first and only love. I question whether Linkin Park knows my personal life when I listen to this song. I truly dont know how anyone who hasnt felt the feeling of losing someone you loved on Valentines day could ever capture that feeling with such vivid detail. Im pretty sure that it was Chester that wrote this song, and I couldnt thank him enough for giving me the feeling that Im not alone in my experience. When I thought I couldnt possibly love Linkin Park any more than I already did, they go and blow me away with an album that deserves alot of credit from alot of people. If you want to listen to a band that makes all their CDs sound the same, then go listen to Nickelback. |

this song is obviously about a woman that justifies her husband abusing her. Hnse her husband is "god, lord, christ", and she will defend him and stand by him no matter what because she believes he is doing it because he loves her. Could I be right? |

I think you are pretty damn close here. Allow me to give my interpretation after reading your thought. Threw you the obvious (money) and you Flew with it on your back (left with the money) a Name in your recollection Down among a million same (you meant nothing to her because she is a prostitue and she does it all the time) Difficult not to feel a little bit Disappointed and passed over When I look right through To see you naked but oblivious And you don't see Me (This verse really gives away the prositute part of the song, "naked and oblivious", " you dont see me" all she sees is money and opportunity for gain.) In the end, I think this song is about seeing something in someone that no one else sees, but when you try to open up to this person and accept them for how wonderful they are, they dont see you as anything other than another method for profit. It captures the sense of a love that could have been, but the prostitute in this example has been down the beaten path for so long now that she cant even see something good when it stares her in the face. The prostitute is just an example for the meaning of this song, and is a very good one. But it can apply to many circumstances in many ways. I myself have experienced something similar to this, but it was with someone that was stuggling with alcoholism. My love was extended, but in the end I was used and it appeared as if she was oblivious to how much I had cared for her. She passed away recently. I still wish I could have helped her more. |

This song hits me harder than any song I have ever heard. It truly captures everything that I feel surrounding my most recent relationship. But for you to understand what this means to me, I must explain what has happened recently in my life. In 2005 I fell in love and started living with a woman that totally completed me and made me happy. I loved her with all of my heart. Our relationship only lasted 10 months after we moved in together. I discovered she was a severe alcoholic. I had never dealt with this kind of thing before, so I didn't know the warning signs or ways to help. If youve dealt with this first hand, then you know where Im coming from. I tried so hard to get her to stop drinking. But the drinking only got more and more, and with it came lies and deceit. Eventually I had to do what I knew was my last and most painful option. I had to break up with her and force her to leave. I knew she had almost nothing left in her life. She moved across country with the assistance of an ex-boyfriend. She soon was living on her own with no one to monitor her problem. At this point it was fall of 2006. Last tuesday I received word that she had passed away from liver failure. This song embodies everything from my discovery of her alcoholism all the way to her death. That without me, she had no one else to help or care about her. "Hope is out of season Lost sight No hint of light Get busy living or get busy dying" This part makes me cry every time I hear it. I rarely cry but this hits me so deep. It paints the picture of how the was no more hope for her and it cost her her life. "Save me This loss Closure my Answer So grant it" This part leaves me feeling the way that I truly feel today. I feel like I need closure on our relationship. But now, with her passed on, I feel like that will never be granted. I must have listened to this song 100 times before last week and never thought twice about the meaning. But now, I cant even bring myself to listen to it anymore. |
