Rush – I Think I'm Going Bald Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love Rush, but this song...very disappointing, along with the whole Caress Of Steel album, really. Bastille Day is okay off that album, but aside from that, their worst album by far. They forgot their roots and got lazy. Thankfully, they made a triumphant come back with 2112 and got back on the track of meaningful lyrics and well planned, long thought out arrangements. |
Rush – The Spirit Of Radio Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think some record companies need to take note from this song. All they care about these days is money money money. When someone downloads a song off the internet by shareware, they act like its the end of the world when really, its a great thing. That band is getting their music out there, their main goal as a band. Before long, record companies are going to put a stop to their music going to radio, because they cannot make profit from that. Music is about freedom and expression, not money. "One likes to believe in the freedom of music, But glittering prizes and endless compromises Shatter the illusion of integrity." As some people "steal" music off the internet, the music is still getting out in the public and those people who "steal" will tell their friends about the music and it causes a chain reaction which ends with you making millions either way. As for "All this machinery making modern music", it makes me think of rap now-a-days. All it is is a drum machine, a MIDI keyboard, and a studio altered voice; no talent needed. Thats one reason I love Rush. Yes, they use their share of studio effects, but the talent is still outstanding. You might say, well you forgot the very next line, "...can still be open hearted" but to them I say rap is not open hearted. Talking [not singing, talking] about how many girls you sleep with and how many drugs you do is not open hearted. It is merely a slow beat people can bob their head to and open their wallets for. The lyrics of Rush and Neil Peart are mind boggling to say the least and are so refreshing in this world today of meaningless lyrics and an industry fueled solely on money and fame. You can however find music with meaning [cough Modest Mouse cough], but the great thing about Rush is they can incorporate vast meaning WITH kick ass instrumentation to keep the attention across the board. Good work! |
Rush – A Passage To Bangkok Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song comes as a surprise, to me at least, being that the members of Rush are not widely seen as burn-outs. Never the less, a great song and an amazing band. |

Elvis Costello – Watching the Detectives Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah, ok this is what i think of this song. I think its about a Detective who is looking out for prostitutes [she looks so good that he gets down and begs]. He then picks up a girl, and turns on her and shoots her [Though it nearly took a miracle to get you to stay, it only took my little fingers to blow you away] |
