i think these lyrics are wrong instead of "now fight the past can kill", i think its "no fight the chaos cant kill". but idk! i love this song, but i figured it is kinda a religious song. the narrator doesnt understand his lovers faith. maybe she is using her faith to get through a hard time theyre having together, and he is saying that its stupid and naive "was it faith that paid the rent?" |

yeah i can agree with that. hes saying everyone thinks shes unimportant and practically invisible. you also associate rain with sadness, so thats a double metaphor i guess but hes saying he will be there to take care of her even if no one else is. she can suffocate him with her emotions and feelings, but he'll be okay because he's with her =) so its kinda a love song IMO |

dang, so many sad stories on tis page. but this song is very relatable. i think SomeDumbEmoKid has a unique perspective on this song. but i agree with the majority, the narrator wants to help this one friend (it doesnt have to be a girlfriend) but maybe he/she doesnt trust him enough at first. he sees an opportunity to help her and takes it (thrust myself into your door). but in the end he realizes its the same problem over and over again. he cant help her, and he has only hurt himself. the part "well i go in circles, runnin down" reminds me of domestic violence. you know how its a cycle? tension phase, conflict phase, honeymoon phase? something like that. maybe this cycle is happening to him, but each time its repeated he dies a little more. i think "i dream to heal your wounds" could mean he wants to end this abusive cycle and not hit her anymore. "but i bleed myself" means he is really the one who needs help. idk, so many different ways you could interpret this song, its vague. |

emogirl28 your post made no friggen sense, but whatever this is maybe my fav song off this album. i think 'she' didnt wait for him. she said she would wait endlessy. he said he would wait,too, and he meant it. but she didnt, now he has returned and found out she didnt wait, maybe she found a new love or just left him. in the end, i cant decide if he wants revenge on her or if he is still waiting for her to come aorund. 'bite straight through' means to live through all the crap life gives you. like to brace yourself against it, imo. such a sad song. this is how i feel sometimes :( |

i think this song is about this song is about trying to achive the american dream. what convinced me is the line "I've been waking all my life to become what I'm going to be" he means he has been trying to achive the american dream, but no matter how hard he tries, he is going nowhere. after a while, he starts feeling hopeless "day out day in, recycle bins" and starts to not care "i can burn all i earn on some weakness or whim" he says "i'm americancer" because the same thing is happening to people all across the country and its making things worse. finally, he realizes whats happening "i call time out" and in the third verse, i think he just gives in to the routine even though he hates it and it makes him sick. kick ass song, it really got me into the matches. i wish i could see them wtih +44 |
