Brandon Flowers – The Way It's Always Been Lyrics | 9 years ago |
It's clearly the "Son" aka Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, not "sun." Awesome song. Powerful. |
We Are Scientists – You Should Learn Lyrics | 9 years ago |
What a great song! |
Type O Negative – Der Untermensch Lyrics | 9 years ago |
hahaha it's funny to see you people on here doing mental gymnastics to justify listening to Type O when he sings about views like this. This song is 100% truth. |
Warren Zevon – Jungle Work Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Sten gun, not stun gun. Any ThornBirds, this song is a great one. It took a while to grow on me but it really rocks. Turn it up loud! |
The Killers – Battle Born Lyrics | 9 years ago |
It is "Blue Ridge" not "blue ranch," as in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. |
The Smiths – Sweet and Tender Hooligan Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This song is anti-liberal. Leftists always want to make excuses for criminals and the scum of society. See: Ferguson riots and Trayvon Martin "he was a sweet boy, he din du nuffin" |
Die Antwoord – Enter the Ninja Lyrics | 14 years ago |
first comment on this amazing song |
The Cribs – Cheat On Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Brakes – No Return Lyrics | 15 years ago |
no comments? seriously? amazing, moving song sounds like the narrator has just broken up with his girlfriend and it's pretty obvious. i think, though, that he broke up with her because he felt like he had to, and the fact that he is the one who broke it off doesn't provide him any comfort. |
British Sea Power – The Land Beyond Lyrics | 15 years ago |
end is mesmerizing |
The Futureheads – Hard To Bear Lyrics | 15 years ago |
how does this song have no comments? pretty self explanatory, but best song off the new album |
British Sea Power – Atom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i just read max weber's "science as a vocation," and they really seem to be connected. maybe not intentionally, but nevertheless. max weber writes that science can theoretically explain everything except for itself, and how we should live our lives. science and technology are always advancing and answering question only ends up creating more questions, and that one who bases his/her whole life on science will never be satisfied because there is no end to advancement. it's like having a graph in map with a limit, you can approach it but you will never reach it. whereas things like art are timeless and are never replaced by advances in technology or humanity. i think this song really speaks to that and the importance of not letting science take emotion or belief out of live. |
Nickelback – Rockstar Lyrics | 16 years ago |
like the libertines |
Nickelback – Rockstar Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what a joke, NICKELBACK of all bands trying to write a song commenting on the "selling out" of bands. these guys aren't real rock, they're just another corporate band. go listen to some real music with artists who can actually write and express something larger than simple observations or the most basic emotions. |
The Features – Contrast Lyrics | 16 years ago |
my fav song of their's probably about two people in a relationship who are just drifting apart and becoming polar opposites or you could apply it to society and how polarized everything is becoming |
British Sea Power – Atom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
oh and "And you keep slipping down the surface of things" could be an allusion to the saying of a "slippery slope," where once you start on it you can't stop. now that society has started on this path we won't be able to stop. wow ok someone needs to post besides me :P |
British Sea Power – Atom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
well "caveat emptor" is latin for "buyer beware," so i think he's saying that if you're gonna go look into the details of things be prepared for what you're going to find, and whatever you find it's your fault for looking. obviously it's about looking down at life on the atomic or sub-atomic level, which could be interpreted as our society today is so concerned with the tiniest of details that it's becoming a problem. "bright but haunted age" could mean bright as in smart and also hopeful because of our science advances but haunted because we are looking at what we are never supposed to have seen by nature. and when we look at things up close, things will just stop making sense. basically ignorance is bliss in different terms. and the baby crying at the end with sounds of spitting...means society today isn't showing any respect for the coming generations and spitting on the future of mankind? |
British Sea Power – Atom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
first comment ever! terrific song, haven't even had time to analyze it yet. |
Guns N' Roses – Civil War Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what is so bad about war? it is natural great song though |
Dan Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip – Thou Shalt Always Kill Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I wonder what his real meaning of it was since the whole song is a contradiction of itself... |
Dan Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip – Angles Lyrics | 16 years ago |
it's "bear" |
Avenged Sevenfold – Critical Acclaim Lyrics | 16 years ago |
A7X are conservatives and this song is definitely directed at liberals who actively push for a loss in iraq for their own political gain...disgusting that they would sell their own country down the drain just so they can say "we were right, bush was wrong." A7X is right on. |
The Postal Service – Brand New Colony Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is the "wouldn't it be nice" of the postal service ("wouldn't it be nice" is a beach boys song if you didn't know...) |
The Darkness – Blind Man Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Tell me why the blind man cries Oh he sheds a tear because He just can't hear the children singing" - that part is metaphorical, or maybe he really is blind. either he is "blind" because his love of his life is gone and he just can't see anything but her, but she is not there to see, or he really is blind. the last line is not that he is literally going deaf, he just can't feel the happiness in the world, like hearing children singing. "How he used to fantasize Of standing next to some children Who are doing singing... Ah! " - he wishes they had children but him and his wife never had any children, so now he is alone. "And the shoulders get colder and colder And his tears, and his tears fall on deaf ears Oooh! " - his shoulders get cold because he doesn't have any arms around them, and no one is answering his longingness. he is alone. "Falling apart At the seams and no-one seems to care You won't cry forever Eileen wouldn't want you too, I swear " - he is just breaking down but there is no one there to care, and he shouldn't cry because eileen wouldn't want that...obviously. "Now he is just an empty shell Oh Since Eileen died the other side seems so appealing Compared to this living hell " - considering suicide. "Oh she haunts his sleep His wounds too deep for any healing Ah! With his arterties starting to harden She is gone, she is gone and it's all wrong" - he constantly dreams about her, she is like a ghost haunting him. maybe the arteries line is a reference to his heart being broken, thus have arteries start to harden is an allusion to a broken heart...? well that's how i see the song. great way to end the album. so sad the darkness is gone now :( ...but eileen wouldn't want me to cry over it haha here's to the guns n roses of our generation... |
Bone Thugs-n-Harmony – I Tried Lyrics | 16 years ago |
typical song of the culture, "i'm the victim, give me more welfare money cuz i can't get a job and actually work." this is what's ruining our country. |
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
lol people are obsessive about connecting songs to bush... does your hatred for the man really run that deep? i guess it does |
Metallica – Don't Tread On Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
zinger, that wasn't the flag of the south. it was the flag of the original 13 colonies. it's not about the civil war. |
Three Days Grace – Riot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"If you feel so empty So used, so let down If you feel so angry So ripped off so stepped on" i feel like that when i listen to this album |
Three Days Grace – On My Own Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ahahahaha TDG has some of the worst lyrics i've ever heard "I need to run far away Can't go back to that place Like she told me I'm just a big disgrace" wow... |
Three Days Grace – Pain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
how can anyone take this band seriously? they are some of the worst lyricists i've ever heard "This life is filled with hurt When happiness doesn't work" wtf? |
The White Stripes – Effect and Cause Lyrics | 17 years ago |
best white stripes song ever obvious meaning, don't do something and blame someone else for it, especially the person you're doing it to! |
Secondhand Serenade – Vulnerable Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this describes my last relationship perfect... i was a lot more attached to my gf than she was to me, because she kept up a wall between her and her emotions, so she wouldn't let herself love me. she thought she was invincible and was immune to feelings like love, while i on the other hand felt exactly opposite and very vulnerable to those feelings. she built that wall because of how she was hurt in her last relationship. it ended up, in part, breaking us apart. but yeah, this song describes it almost perfectly, except that my feelings for her never actually got to be love. |
Metallica – Don't Tread On Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
lol @ all those who talk down on nationalism. oh, i'm sorry, is your country not the most powerful in the world? well i guess that's a good reason to not be nationalistic. sorry, but nationalism has been around forever, and that won't change. i am an american, i live in america, and if you fuck with us, we are gonna kick your ass. we do whatever the hell we need to do to remain powerful and maintain strength beyond challenge. so if you're friendly to us, i'll call you an ally. you challenge our power, watch out. |
Hinder – Lips of an Angel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
hinder sucks so bad, how can you people like their "rock" music? so generic, so bad. listen to some real, CREATIVE music that isn't all the same. |

Kings of Leon – Ragoo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow i love the chorus of this song...it sounds bittersweet, happy but it makes you feel sad |
Black Sabbath – War Pigs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
holy crap all you commies scare me...seriously. wtf is up w/ all you little punks thinking communism is the way to go? lol @ "brainwashed by the establishment" anyways, this is a good song. it's obvious what the lyrics are about, but i think it is stupid to be pro-war or anti-war. few people are pro-war, and those who are anti-war are idiots. sometimes war is necessary, everyone needs to accept that. don't say you're pro-war, because that means you support war for the sake of waging war. and don't say you're anti-war, because that means that you are against all war of any kind, which is absurb. war is necessary. |
Gob – Give Up The Grudge Lyrics | 17 years ago |
silly socialist, making money is a *good* thing. not much of a political message here, but if there is one, this song just went down in my book. lol @ "upper-middle-class Conservatives" funny how the song talks about not judging others, yet the whole song is judging someone else... |
Ben Folds – Get Your Hands Off My Woman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this cover! originally done by the darkness on their "permission to land album." i love the darkness (which by the way is interesting because these are 2 completely different types of music) and i love the original but this one is good too. |
Iron Maiden – The Trooper Lyrics | 17 years ago |
