I really like this song a lot. The only problem I have with it is when she says she is "10,000" leagues beneath the sea. A league is almost 3.5 miles, so that is around 35000 miles beneath the sea...which is about 27,000 miles into space on the other side. But maybe that is what she meant! The book "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" refers to the distance traveled while under the sea and not the actual depth. Anyway, "Year of Meteors" is definitely one of my favorite albums I've discovered this year and this is my favorite song on that album. |

| They were on radio last night, live. It was pretty sweet. Anyway, they explained the meaning of this song! Someone asked if it was because of a bad breakup or had anything to do with a relationship and they said no. Apparently, it was just things that they were "annoyed by". Like the "killing floor" was referring to slaughtering of animals. And "my watch and chain" referred to a song that he didn't like because of how the singer sang it! | |
