I did correct them. It hasn't changed.

Train – You Can Finally Meet My Mom Lyrics 9 years ago
It's not entirely that complicated. Pat has written quite a few songs about his mom and her passing. He's reflecting on his life and his wife and reevaluating how he wants to live. What used to be important to him (money and fame) are now being replaced by love and family. His wife hasn't passed away, in fact he mentions "whoever goes first save a spot".

Who's submitting these Train lyrics? So many simple English mistakes.

Our Lady Peace – Innocent Lyrics 11 years ago
This song speaks to me on a different level. It feels like the day I gave up god and religion.

"I remember feeling low
I remember losing hope
I remember all the feelings
And the day they stopped"

The day I stopped believing in fairy tales and learned to think on my own. These kids in the song are holding on to a hope that doesn't lead them anywhere.

"One day
You'll have to let it go
One day
You'll stand up on your own"

Break free of the chains of faith and stand on your own two legs. It's beautiful.

Joe Purdy – only four seasons Lyrics 16 years ago
This is one of my favorite Joe Purdy songs, too. I can't quite get a handle on it , though.

It seems to be about change...the need for change. "There's only four seasons" but he wants more. It gives me that "I'm stuck in this town I grew up in with fake friends and shallow relationships" kind of vibe.

Owen – Skin and Bones Lyrics 16 years ago
Did you even stop to think if these lyrics made sense before you posted them?

Anyway, this song is about how we're all the same scared, lonely, vain people on the inside...no matter what the outside makes it seem like.

Reel Big Fish – My Imaginary Friend Lyrics 16 years ago
"Maybe there is something wrong with me
I don't see what they see
Used to fold my hands and close my eyes
And think that you were with me
Now there's something wrong
It doesn't seem to make much sense
I just feel so stupid now"

Definitely about god. It's about waking up and realizing it's better to put your faith in real people than an imaginary being.

Linkin Park – Hands Held High Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is absolutely amazing. It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

And schirs is an ignorant pleb. Hussein was the secular power keeping control of the chaos in Iraq. He was tyrant, but Bush had no reason to run in a fuck things up. It doesn't matter where we get our oil from, the supply is running out fast and the Monkey King's reasons for going into a false war on terror are transparent.

I can definitely identify with this song....very powerful.

It can be true for females just as much as males. You have a lot to learn.

And "male" is a sex, not a race.

Switchfoot – American Dream Lyrics 17 years ago
It doesn't seem so much about Bush, Iraq, or politics. To me, this song is about corporate America. It's about how we live to work and work to live. It's about wanting to break away from the daily grind and do something for a grander purpose...help mankind instead of yourself.

Switchfoot – Happy Is A Yuppie Word Lyrics 17 years ago
This truly is a beautiful song. It's a shame about the Christian influence, though. He could have gone much deeper with this concept.

Troubled Hubble – 14,000 Things to Be Happy About Lyrics 17 years ago
When I hear this song, it feels like growing up with depression. You have big plans as a child, but end up living your life with a fake smile and a defeatist attitude.

A Day at the Fair – Homesick Angels Lyrics 18 years ago
I love this song and the gorgeous female voice that accompanies the chorus. It's about someone just trying to get by after a loved one has passed. Awesome ending to an awesome EP.

Matt Pond PA – Halloween Lyrics 18 years ago
This was a totally different song to me before I read the lyrics. At first, I thought "Could we leave before it gets bad?" was "Could we leave before he gets back?" ...which made it seem like he was trying to pick up this beautiful woman who had a boyfriend (that was in the bathroom or at the bar) and he was going to burn the place down if he couldn't have her.

Now it's either a song about someone who can't fit in at parties (which I can relate to) or someone who's trying to get out of a relationship before it gets bad (the line "I thought we were doing fine with our lives/There are people who will tell you/There is always something better" supports that)

Either way, it's a freakin' beautiful song. I can't stop listening to it.

The Format – On Your Porch Lyrics 19 years ago
spangled, I interpreted the smoke was just part of the visual of him sitting on the porch for so long...smoking cigarettes until it sunk into his skin.
