Loudon Wainwright III – Homeless Lyrics
|
About Loudon's mother and how much he missed her after she died. He was so devastated that he sought therapy. He acknowledges he is getting better, but, obviously, will never be completely over it. |

Buzzcocks – Noise Annoys Lyrics

No has anything to say about one of Buzzcocks' all-time classics? I guess the lyrics are kind of repetitive, but, still... |

Buzzcocks – Love You More Lyrics
|
Perhaps their greatest song, starts so positive and happy, has the joyous chorus always sung loudly at live shows, and then rips your heart out at the end. |

Art Brut – Moving to L.A. Lyrics
|
I like that part where he sings "The first thing I'm gonna do
Is strip naked to the waist" and then the rest of the band whistles at him.
So funny. |

Art Brut – DC Comics and Chocolate Milkshake Lyrics
| 9 years ago
|
I think he says:
She's a girl who likes comics;
She probably gets a lot
That makes more sense and is hilarious to turn it around and say a girl really gets a lot. Usually that would be said about a guy. |

The Nerves – When You Find Out Lyrics
|
This song about being dumped by the love of your life rings true to me. When he sings "When you find out I was the one
I'll be gone,"
and then "When you find out
It's gonna be pretty hard on you," it means that she was going to be pretty broken up when, after going through perhaps, several guys, she finally realized that he was the one she should have stayed with. |

The Mr. T Experience – Love Is Dead Lyrics
| 9 years ago
|
If you just read this, with lines like: "still there's not a sadder lie than I love you."
and:
"It's cold dark and stormy and there's nothing for me out there anyhow,"
it is a very depressing song, for anyone that has ever been dumped. But when you listen to it, it seems almost a happy tune. |

Visqueen – Vaxxine Lyrics
|
It's been years since I submitted the lyrics for most of these Visqueen songs and depressing only one person has commented on them. This song, perhaps their greatest, included.
And they are gone now, so I suppose no one ever will. |

The Thermals – Remember Today Lyrics
|
One of their best songs, especially live, that is when they used to play it live. I wish I could go back in time and see them again when they only had two albums out. Those shows were unreal. And they are gone forever. Now they don't even play many songs off the first two. |

7 Year Bitch – Scratch Lyrics

It is called "The Scratch," not Scratch. Better than calling it "The Itch" like one review apparently did, back in the day. |

The Dead Milkmen – I Tripped Over The Ottoman Lyrics
| 9 years ago
|
In the background when they sing "I brought you death," you can hear Richie shout "oh boy!" As a big Dick Van Dyke Show fan, I seem to remember him yelling "yay" more often in response to Rob bringing him something, although he may very well have said "oh boy!" sometimes. |

The Dead Milkmen – Laundromat Song Lyrics

They played this live tonight! One of their very best songs. Whole song is great, best line is: "she's drying her jeans, in separate machines." |

The Dead Milkmen – I Walk the Thinnest Line Lyrics
| 9 years ago
|
Listening to this song right now and saw Dead Milkmen tonight and they did play it. What does it mean? It is about a guy who walks a very thin line between the good and bad sides of his mind. |

The Dead Milkmen – Dean's Dream Lyrics

Saw them live tonight, and when they played that song, it was truly memorable! The lyrics are not on the CD, so reading them here was the first time I knew what was being said (if they are right, how can you be sure?) |

Ramones – Carbona, Not Glue Lyrics
|
Except that it was in America that it was originally censored. Besides we have nothing but censorship in the US. Have you listened to radio lately? Tell Don Imus or Howard Stern or who is it, Opie and Anthony, that there is no censorship here. On TV you can see actual medical procedures like surgery with all the blood and guts or you can see simulations of murders and rapes, but you can't see half a nipple or the word "shit" on TV. |

Sonic Youth – Tunic (Song for Karen) Lyrics

I remember Thurston saying once in an interview, that they were singing a bunch of different Carpenters songs in the background. Hard to make out more than one or two though. |

Visqueen – Zirconium Gun Lyrics

Wow I didn't know that about the submarine thing. And thanks for posting something. I put all these lyrics in almost three months ago and someone finally posted something. I even posted on the Visqueen website that the lyrics were here, but no one responded. Seeing Visqueen on July 1. Can't wait. |

I love this song--coming right after Punk Rock Girl, those were the two I used to know all the words to. But I never had the nerve to actually drink bleach. Can't even stand the smell. |

Buzzcocks – Boredom Lyrics

I couldn't believe Boredom wasn't submitted yet. Certainly one of my all-time favorites and nearly always done live. The lyrics need no explanation, and are in fact quite hilarious. |
