Morrissey – You Have Killed Me Lyrics 18 years ago
As far as I knew Pasolini was gay - 'Pasolini is me' Says quite a lot to me.

Emmylou Harris – Goodbye Lyrics 18 years ago
The song was written by Steve Earle and I read that he wrote this song about being in prison and missing the drug taking and it actually wasn't about a woman, but I cannot hear it any other way than a love song.

I heard somewhere that the song was actually about Gram parsons, I actually think most of her work has been based on him.

U2 – The Wanderer Lyrics 18 years ago
I love this song. When I first heard it I thought of a man who knew he was about to die i.e "Jesus don't you worry, jesus I'll be home soon" lovely line and I like to think of this person searching for a lost love either before he dies or after the event. Does that make any sense? wonderful song.

Emmylou Harris – Boulder To Birmingham Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is clearly about her losing Gram Parsons. Such a beautiful love song about loss I think the line "..and that hardest part is knowing I'll survive". I think we can all relate to this line when we've lost something so dear to us.

Dido – White Flag Lyrics 19 years ago
This song was written about her ex-boyfriend who she finished with if I remember rightly. So it makes me wonder what she is trying to say in the song if she was the dumper. I think she's saying she will always be in love with this person and will never get over them just because they had such a long history together, but her saying "I will go down with this ship..." is like her saying, she cannot go back, she's made her choice and she knows she will suffer the loss of a lover/friendship.

Peter Gabriel – I Grieve Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is so depressing, but so beautiful at the same time. You can hear the pain in his voice as he sings "I grieve for you...you leave me..so hard to move on." He is singing about a loss, a loss he never regains. What's lost is utterly, and recoverably, lost forever. Is he singing about a break up of a relationship, the death of someone close, who knows. What he does say is life goes on. This song means so much to me.

Morrissey – Trouble Loves Me Lyrics 19 years ago
I believe he is singing about an ex partner who no longer loves him, guessing they still see each other as friends, but the other person is playing games with him. I love the ending where he sings "Then at midnight I can't get you out of my head" you can tell he really means it. Also note "Go to soho, go to waste in the wrong arms" all sound far to close to being a gay man to me.

Morrissey – Speedway Lyrics 19 years ago
Okay I'm guessing this song is about him having an affair with a married man, and this other person who he has had a relationship with is so scared that Morrissey himself just might tell everyone about there sordid encounters, but for Morrissey it goes far deeper, he loves him in his own sick way, and would never say a word about it, but is so angry this person would think he would tell a soul.

Morrissey – Late Night, Maudlin Street Lyrics 19 years ago
For me it sounds like Morrissey is saying that Maudlin st actually has so many good memories on it, it's almost far too painful to ever go back there again or even think about it, because those times are over. The reason why I say this is because he sings "..and there were bad time times on Maudlin st.." as if he's saying it wasn't all good. I also believe that this place is so painful to remember because he fell in love there and he no longer sees this person and wonders what has become of them, as he sings at the end of the song "wherever you are..." and I cannot believe he would be singing this about a girl...but, thats just my view what do I know.
