I did know about the Shins until late '04, and i hate when people are extremely snobby about when and where exactly you found the band. i hope you guys don't think i'm just a super hypocrite for writing all of this. it's not about how you found the great music, it's that you found it and can experience it. |

heard the song in Garden State...... awesome!!!! i havd heard of the band's songs before, but now i'm definitely hooked. and thank you,keraaa, if this ever goes on the radio station near me and all the lame preppy people are singing it next to some Avril song, i will choke the nearest.... well, i dunno.... i think "whatshername" is a girl who is just trying to "sell herself off" as something she's not, and someone (maybe Jimmy) comes to try to help her, but deosn't know how to bring out her true self. i really like jesus of suburbia's comment too though, because it sounds like he has pretty good theories on what the hell's goin on w/ American Idiot. |

not to start the inevitable beatles war......BUT... blackbird did not come from the i am sam soundtrack. it is originally from the white album, part 1. thank you. this song is truly beautiful and i cry too (whenever i hear it.) it shows hope in even the darkest of times, like a dark blackbird flying away from all of the pain in the world. |

i swear i thought this song was the beatles the first time a geard it. it sounds like most of paul's songs thrown in a blender, hit on purr'e (spelling?), then sent to the jet studios. in fact, most jet songs are just rip-offs of other people's songs. please make your own songs jet or back off the classics.... you aren't true artists.... well, maybe SCAM artists! i'm sorry i bought this cd (even though i like the songs), but i shouldn've just bought more of the originals.
