Sleater-Kinney – Oh! Lyrics
|
I never thought it was about masterbation, because majority of the lyrics just seem to be addressed to a person. I think it's just a love song, but I maybe I'm wrong. |

Sleater-Kinney – Heart Factory Lyrics
|
I think this song is about how 'love' is portrayed in the media and how it's portrayal is fake and unrealistic. But I wanted to make a correction on the lyrics. It's not 'fucks me up' I think it's 'Let me out' or 'Let me go'. |

Sleater-Kinney – Entertain Lyrics
|
I think this song is a jab at a whole bunch of things in the media today. Reality tv would be one of them, as well as retro rock bands (like The Darkness, Jet, etc.). I also think it's a jab at VH1 nostalgia shows (I love the '80s, '70s, etc) and it's saying that we're spending too much time in the past, and not inventing anything new for the present. |

NOFX – Kill All the White Men Lyrics
|
Um, DjRef correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's sarcasm. Like it's directed at people who are so anti racist or anti sexist they're on the other end of the spectrum, and they blame all the problems on the white man (like Michael Moore's book 'Stupid White Men'). I think the song's making fun of those kinds of people. But I could be wrong. |

Eminem – What If I Was White Lyrics

The antagonistic response to this song would probably be 'Don't Call Me White' by NOFX or 'Guilty of Being White' by Minor Threat. |

X-Ray Spex – Oh Bondage Up Yours! Lyrics

Wow, you guys completely missed the meaning of the song. This song eagerly steam rolls over the idea of women being treated like sex objects. It's sarcastic of course. |

NOFX – Kill Rock Stars Lyrics
|
This song is a diss to Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill. In the song, it makes it sound like she invented the phrase 'Kill rock stars'. She didn't. It's just the name of the record label she and the other Riot Grrrls were on. And she doesn't hate men either!! |

Veruca Salt – Celebrate You Lyrics

I agree with Lougolas and darianess. It's about trying to control your anger, and seeing another side to yourself when you become so angry. |

Bratmobile – P.R.D.C.T. Lyrics

This is about going out with a guy who's in a punk band, and you think it's going to be so great because he's your 'punk rock dream come true'. Only it turns out he's not so great. |

Bratmobile – Bitch Theme Lyrics

It's basically about how women are always getting called bitches so easily and then Bratmobile stop and ask, Well do you really mean it? Do you really think I'm a bitch? Do ya? Or are you just saying that? |

Bratmobile – Richard Lyrics
|
The drummer Molly Neuman sings on this song. It's about a guy who did something really bad to you and left you broken hearted. I wonder if the guy who she was going out with was actually named Richard. That's pretty bold to name the song after him, if you think about it. Yet, it's funny. Bratmobile rocks. |

Hole – She Walks On Me Lyrics

Courtney once explained this song:
"You know how when you're in high school and there's that one girl and she tries to copy you and you're already a big freak anyway and nobody likes you, but then she tries to copy you and get popular over it? That's what this song is about." |

Hole – Rock Star Lyrics
|
This song makes fun of people who are anti-mainstream. People who accuse bands of selling out all the time. Someone posted these lyrics incorrectly, however. In the beginning she says, "Yeah, I know you wanna kill the rock stars." That could be a reference to the record label, Kill Rock Stars, and all the Riot Grrrls. Kathleen Hanna accused Kurt Cobain of selling out, and this song is like Courtney's big f-you to anyone who accused her or her husband of selling out. She is saying, "Yeah, I know you claim to be so anti-mainstream, but you're really not. Cuz if you had the chance, you'd want to try to be famous too." |

Hole – Retard Girl Lyrics

Hole – Loaded Lyrics

I think it's something about prostitution. The 'weird red light' could be a reference to the red light district (prostitutes) and getting 'loaded' is an obvious reference to sex. |

Hole – He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss) Lyrics

Bikini Kill – New Radio Lyrics

Bratmobile – Fuck Yr Fans! Lyrics
|
I think this song is about the Riot Grrrl movement, and all the troubles that were in it. The title 'Fuck Yr Fans' does not mean to literally sleep with your fans, but is more of a big f-you to them. Why? Perhaps, it shows the eliteism (sp?) or that some of the fans Riot Grrrl attracted weren't exactly nice people. |
