Neutral Milk Hotel – The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This track takes me to a 1950's mid-America town in the country; playing on the rope swing and flying into the river while and then going back to the house of the new girl you met. Staying up all night on her portch in the summertime. |
Wu-Tang Clan – Da Mystery Of Chessboxin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
What is chessboxin'? And what makes it so mysterious? |
The Mountain Goats – No Children Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is my favorite love song, ever. Have you ever met an old couple that argues all the time? It's great! Insults and threats fly back and forth throughout every conversation. But still the couple stays together because they do, in fact, love each other. It's just that after a certain point, "being in love" loses the youthful cluelessness that it once had. Love doesn't have to be defined by cutesy emotions and heart-felt letters. I'm sick of songs that defend love like it's the special needs kid being picked on in the schoolyard, in need of constant support and encouragement. Sometimes love is so permenant that it doesn't have to be mentioned. |
