Roxette – Fading Like a Flower (Every Time You Leave) Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
Personally I've always interpreted the lyrics to be about someone who was very shy. She had a crush on someone and really wanted to be with that person, but was too self-conscious and hid every time she saw her crush. And then ended up feeling really bad every time her crush left, knowing she had failed once again to talk to him. |

I love this song. Found out about it from one of the "Vacation" movies. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it on any CDs or any websites. Anyone know where I can get this song? |

I wish someone would give their opinion on the meaning of this song. I love this song but would like to know how other people interpret the meaning. |

Pet Shop Boys – Too Many People Lyrics

Very catchy song, and fun to exercise to.
Obviously, the song is about trying to figure out your identity. "Whoever I decide to be depends on who is with me". He acts differently depending on who he is with, and he's having a hard time figuring out which one of these personalities is really his own. |

Fleetwood Mac – Family Man Lyrics

I love this song. However, whenever I recommend it to anyone, they end up disliking it.
The song is about being devoted to and taking responsibility for your family. |

Michael Penn – High Time Lyrics

This song is totally underrated and never received as much attention as it should have. It's one of the best songs I've ever heard, but no one else seems to have heard of it.
I'm not sure what the meaning is about, though. |

Prince – Diamonds and Pearls Lyrics

This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. I think that most of the lyrics are pretty straightforward; he loves her, and if he could, he would give her “diamonds and pearls” and “the world.” But he can’t do that, so he gives her the next best thing: his love. I think it’s pretty obvious that that’s what the lyrics mean. However, I’m also confused by the line “Would you be a happy boy or a girl”. My guess is that they only used those lyrics because they rhyme with the previous ones, and they fit the rhythm of the song. In other words, I think that this particular line is present in the song more for rhythm than for meaning. |

The Style Council – Speak Like A Child Lyrics

I really like this song, but I'm not sure what it's about. I'm guessing it's about his girlfriend, and I picture her being a carefree blonde who doesn't care what others think. |

Ace of Base – Dr. Sun Lyrics

Ace of Base has been my favorite band since I was ten years old, and this is one of my all-time favorite songs by them. It's so typically Ace of Base--and I mean that in a good way. I listen to this song every time I go on a vacation. It's the perfect song to listen to at the beach. I love the electronic keyboard tune in the background of this song. Whenever I hear it, even with my eyes closed, I can picture the sun reflecting on the ripples of the ocean. |

Ace of Base – Blooming 18 Lyrics

The song is saying that 18 is a difficult age. You're officially considered an adult, and everyone expects you to act like one, but you are torn between growing up and/or holding onto your childhood. Also, even though you're an adult and should get to make your own decisions, your parents are still controlling many aspects of your life and you feel conflicted and trapped. |

The Wallflowers – Three Marlenas Lyrics

I'ved loved this song since it first came out, but I'm still not sure what it's about. I have no idea what "Marlena" could mean besides a name, or why there would be three of them. My brother once said that this song is about a prostitute, but I'm not sure if I agree. |

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch – Good Vibrations Lyrics

I love this song. It should be known that parts of this song sample "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway. Fans of "Good Vibration" might enjoy "Ride On Time" by Black Box, which is another dance song that samples "Love Sensation." |

Dishwalla – Counting Blue Cars Lyrics
|
This song could be about someone with OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). Common symptoms of OCD include excessive counting (i.e., counting blue cars) and unreasonable superstitions (such as skipping cracks in the street due to the belief that you will break your mother's back). Of course, it's very unlikely that this is what the song is actually about, seeing as how none of the other lyrics seem to fit in with that theory. |

Pet Shop Boys – What Have I Done To Deserve This? Lyrics
| 19 years ago

I've always imagined this song being about a guy getting a job at a hospital; a job that involves talking to and comforting the patients, like maybe a social worker. Most likely, I'm wrong, but this is just how I've interpreted it since the first time I've heard it. |
