The Doors – Indian Summer Lyrics

acuarella, indian summer from what i know is a period following the autumnal equinox where the temperature reaches 70 degrees or higher for seven consecutive days. i truly feel this is a period of mystical proportions. it also applys to late blooming of plants which often times occurs during an Indian Summer. Maybe this song is about an old flame which returns after a period of time as a suprise, unexpected and overwhelming. |

Bob Dylan – Restless Farewell Lyrics

this is such a beutiful song.
But the dark goes die
As the curtain is drawn and somebody's eyes
Must meet the dawn.
And if I see the day
I'd only have to stay,
So I'll bid farewell in the night and be gone.
that line completes the most necessary revelation in my soul. |

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – One Rainy Wish Lyrics

the most powerful moment in this song is when jimi sings;
"I have never
Laid eyes on you
Not before
This timeless day
But you woke and whoa
Smiled my name
And you stole
My heart away
A stole my heart away little girl, yeah
All right !"
and then the most incredible guitar |

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Up From The Skies Lyrics
| 19 years ago

i fyou remember the track before this is EXP, which is an interview with Paul Corusoe "on the dodgy subject of are there or are there not UFO's or um flying saucers". In the middle of the interview Corusoe changes into an alien. I think up from the skies is about the alien that evolves during the interview returning to planet earth after many years to find "the stars misplaced" and everyone and everything different. |

any true experience fan would have commented on this song. this song is written and sung by noel redding, the bassist. it's a really different sounding song. a good contrast in the middle of the axis album. |

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Voodoo Child (Slight Return) Lyrics

i wish people wouldn't fill this sight with such animosity. this song is so beautiful in a unique way. as you all have said, this is a pure jam and full of creativity. i think jimi did "slight return" because he had an idea which he wanted to get across afterwards, and that's hgow he did it. |

very sad song, but true. newscasters don't give a damn about the people that their story effected, as long as they make some money. |

Jack Johnson – It's All Understood Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
to me this song is about how young americans become what the see or hear. like people are what there parents are, just because that's what they are exposed to. and they have no opportunity to become a unique individual. like the first verse says, they do what they see every one else doing. the second verse says how we always jump to conclusions before we know anything about what really happened. then it talks about how if you don't believe in christianity, you are wrong ,no matter what. even if you're just questioning, your wrong. but you're supposed to question religion, b/c only then can you fully understand it. that shows america's ignorance and how people think they know everything. |

jack does a great job of taking a very controversial topic and telling the truth about it, but it still sounds so chill. his lyrics are so deep and always have meaning. the meaning of this song is pretty obvious. |

Jack Johnson – Losing Hope Lyrics

this is one of my favorite jack johnson songs. my parents sent me to boarding school this year, and although i've been there for an entire semester, i have only made 2 or 3 real friends. when i came home i realized that i didn;t have as many true friends as i thought, but this song always reminds me of my true friends at home. just when you think your going to lose it, you can always call your friends. |

Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here Lyrics

I think that this song is not necessarily based on an individual, but an experience, the experience of becoming famous. If you look back at "Dark Side of the Moon", "Money", to me, is about becoming famous, and that album did that for them, and I see WYWH, the song and the album, as the band remembering the days before they were mainstream and maybe as a peice to cope with the fact that maybe they couln't handle the sudden stardom that they acheived. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is my view. |
