Death Cab for Cutie – Little Fury Bugs Lyrics

It's "Little Fury Bugs" and I'm reasonably sure the title refers to the classic Dinosaur Jr. track "Little Fury Things." Not sure of the significance of that, exactly, but both are great and wonderful songs. |

Modest Mouse – A Life of Arctic Sounds Lyrics

Thank God there are still some Modest Mouse songs stupid emo kids don't like. I'm happy for the band's fame, but wow are some of the comments on this site on newer songs idiotic. This is a great song, and the lyrics are cool and surreal. I do wish I had managed to get that set of limited edition bumper stickers they had been selling on the official site with the "100 Miles..." part. Oh well. |

Bright Eyes – Down in a Rabbit Hole Lyrics

great song, great record. i am also reminded of donnie darko, with some of the imagery. for the record, the drug reference is freebasing, right? hence the "soda" (baking soda + cocaine = crack)? |

Yeah, I think it would be fair to assume he's still/back on it. He's clearly talking about freebasing in "Down a Rabbit Hole," as well. This song is beautiful though. |

Simon and Garfunkel – America Lyrics

this song is absolutely perfect in every way. extremely poetic and musically ingenius. there's something about the line "kathy i'm lost... i'm empty and aching and i don't know why" that hits so close to home with... just about everybody.
i've always felt like there's a certain overtone of the relationship not being the innocent perfect thing it seems like initially, as well. |

Ben Kweller – In Other Words Lyrics

look, as much as i love this song... "butterflies are passive-aggressive" is a failure as a lyric if you attempt to really sit down and interpret it. i think that it sounds great in the song, it fits very nicely, but when i think about it, it doesn't actually make any sense. it's an interesting idea, but it kind of reminds me of an impressionist painting... hard to get any focus or detail from it if you examine it closely. also, for the record, passive-aggressiveness is a hell of a lot more complicated than being stubborn. |

liz phair's best song. cool imagery, great hook, and as an added bonus, a Galaxie 500 reference. can't go wrong here. |

i like this version, emmylou harris's vocals are cool, i wish people were better able to appreciate the rough-hewn harmony. both versions are interesting in their own right. |

Jimmy Eat World – 23 Lyrics

ironically, an incident with this song almost ended my now-defunct relationship, cuz i played it for this girl and she got this weird crush on me. now that that relationship has ended, i have come to another point where i understand exactly what he is saying and i cry everytime i hear this. i sound so emo, but it's true.
i'm sure my experience taints it, but i feel like they've broken up, and now he's stuck in this position where he was happy and she wasn't, and he can never move on. which is kind of where i feel like i'm headed. it seems like he's arguing with himself about it, almost. |

why are there no comments on this? seriously, this might be my favorite dylan song. it's a song that reminds me of those insomniac nights, so lonely and beautiful. |

i could be wrong, but isn't it "time is out of joint" like shakespeare? i swear that's what i hear.
this is definitely one of el-p's best tracks. |

it's a great song. all low songs turn out slightly creepy, i think, even the pretty/love type ones |

Wilco – Hell Is Chrome Lyrics

also, the first time i heard this record, i heard "at least that's what you said" then this song and i was like wow, maybe wilco finally made a truly timeless awesome record. and then was terribly, terribly disappointed with about 2/3 of the other songs. oh well. |

i have to say i'm not sure if i agree with the drug interpretation. also, tweedy quit drugs. it might be about that, now that i think about it. maybe, it's pretty vague, could be about anything. |

Uncle Tupelo – Shaky Ground Lyrics

What a great song this is. Some of Ferrar's best work, I think.
"Now it's down to the wire
Facing six feet under
Can only wonder and stare
His name was a number" I think says a lot about the plight of working people even today |

Uncle Tupelo – Black Eye Lyrics

I love this song. I'm not 100% sure what the lyrics mean, I get the vibe I think as like a rural towns suck vibe. Isn't this the most gorgeous song you ever heard though? |
