god i've had the album for the longest time and i've only now realized how amazing this song is. i'm just struggling with everything right now and the sick and tired thing just describes everything that's going on right now so perfectly. In fact, this song kind of is great for just describing my youth in general. nights well spent and nights wasting time kind of go hand in hand i think. i just don't want to deal with all this crap anymore and i don't want to stand for hazy eyes anymore either.
i don't think i'm making much sense right now but it also doesn't make sense how this song just seems like a description of my life at this present moment. |

i think that this song is about an ex who's not necessarily leading him on but they're still kind of hanging on to one another. they're broken up but he's just not ready to let go yet.
he definitely feels like she doesn't care anymore and he's kind of writing the song out of desperation because he just doesn't know what to do. here's this girl he's in love with who's done with him and he's trying not to be in love with her anymore but as we all know that's kind of difficult. he can't let go of her yet but at the same time he's in so much pain. when he says "i didn't want it to mean that much to me" (my favourite line in the song) he's frustrated because he can't help but feel that way for her and he shows that by saying it over and over again. i could go on forever but i won't...

the thing i love most about this song is that it is so refreshing. there are a hundred million songs out there that talk about how much life sucks but here's one that's just so much different. he's saying how there's no point in going back and thinking about all the things you may have done in the past that were shitty but you can't change it so who cares.
on another note, the lyrics of this song almost feel like a dream. with the sailing belly up to the clouds and drifting like an actor. chris is great with painting a picture in all of his songs |

i think he writes this song after whatever it is has happened and he's looking back at it. during the "event" he didn't think there was anything wrong but now when he thinks about it again, all the signs of whatever it was were already showing. i'm not sure if this is a relationship song or just a song about life in general, but either way, it's great. the lead singer has one hell of a voice and can't really appreciated unless heard live. |

i guess there's no point in commenting here but what the hell. the first time i heard this i was fine until the line from For Me This Is Heaven. when he says "i'm not your star" it kills me everytime and i start to cry. the lyrics to this song are incredible and it's hard to believe that anyone can tap into their emotions so well and be able to put them into words. |
