| I know I am not like the rest of the Gin Blossom's fans. I'm a 15 year old girl. But when I was little my dad was in a band that practiced every Wednesday in our garage with a few other lifeguards. They played a lot of Tom Petty, Stray Cats, and most importantly-- Gin Blossoms. There's no reason why I'm commenting on this song rather than the others, it just happens to be the one I'm listening to. My dad gave up all hope for the Gin Blossoms when Doug died. He thought their second album was a flop, but I don't think he realized that Doug only wrote half of their stuff on the former. A few months ago I realized the band was still going, touring even. We tried to get tickets to see them at the Coach House in Capistrano... but stuff didn't work out. We did, however, start listening to the Gin Blossoms all the time again. I appreciate their music so much now and they are definitely one of my favorite bands. | |

| This song makes me want to dig a hole in the ground and sit in it... I like the underground sound and the simplicity of the lyrics. It makes me happy that Britt Daniels doesn't get too carried away with the whoa-oh-oh thing. The very best line is the last one. Another good song on Girls Can Tell is Lines in the Suit. Or listen to Spent On Rainy Days from the Bright Eyes/Britt split. | |

| This isn't one of my favorite STD songs, but I still like it. I watched the video the other day ....aaand it's horrible. But I think STD deliberately made the music video dumb. That way, Mtv won't want to play it. They will watch it and be like "damn this band has a dumb video so their music must suck, too. Let's not even listen to it." Same with At Your Funeral. The video is gay off the heezy. I want to see good videos for the good songs off Stay What You Are. The best ones are Firefly, Freakish and As Your Ghost Takes Flight. Although my favorite STD songs are on the older albums, I know I won't be able to see new videos of them. | |

| THE VIDEO... I just watched it. It's pretty cool. I like the Clash poster and the Fight Club poster in the backgrounds at the beginning. I like how they just did something simple and showed mostly the boys jumping around. The best part is when it shows john and adam singing at the same time. It's different and better than listening to the cd because I finally have beautiful faces to match to the voices. If you're a TBS fan then you should download the video but please have respect for the other fans and keep it on the down low so MTV doesn't find out about them... they ruin the best of things and make the worst worse. | |

This is what I think- he wants her so bad but she fucked up so he has to let her go considers staying in touch and still hooking up (in a sarcastic sense) wishing there was a way to have her to himself but knowing it would be impossible because she is not that kind of person wanting to take a piece of her and remember her because even though she screwed him over, it doesn't mean that he doesn't want her / wish things were different and if he can't come to grips, he'll force himself to hate her and realize that he loved her, but she couldn't have been as great / prefect as he thought if she could hurt him the way she did he realizes that the love he had for her should have been love of her "insides" and now that he thinks about it, he should have known all along now that he is so heartbroken, she might as well finish him off thinking of the sweet memories and feelings he thought they shared, he wishes that he could trick her by being nice again and then lashing out and hurting her the way she did to him maaaaan this song... it makes me feel like my blood is boiling. does anyone else get that? there's so much that this song makes me want to talk about, cry about, scream about... but basically, in my opinion, the girl he is with fucks up the relationship and he knows that they can't go on together because of whatever damage she caused him and he is struggling with himself to get over her even though he still has feelings for her. it's the whole, JUST BECAUSE I HATE YOU DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T LOVE YOU |

| For sure, the best part/moment of this song is when Chris sings, "...say you don't want to be with me...". I like it because that's when Bryan on the drums goes wild after it's slow for a second and it's just all over the place... Chris's voice just kinda steps up and hits it perfectly. The climax, the vulnerability, and the dramatic little hook that are all aspects of every saves the day song. oh yeah--- and "So don't ask me about forever because right now I'm feeling lost"... god i can't stop listening to this song. I've been devoured... | |
