i really enjoy this song. it is on the same release as "now the world"...i have a vinyl with just those two songs on it. i dont know where else to get it :-/ anyhow, i always think of it being fairly upbeat, but in now looking at the lyrics ive come to reevaluate how i perceive this song... |

yeah dude, this song is good. i agree that matchbook romance is completely underrated. hopefully being on warped tour will get them some much-deserved attention. um, i think this song is about a relationship with someone where it seems so good, but when you stand back and look at it, its time to get out...thats why its the greatest fall...because on the one hand the relationship has built into something you think you cant live without, but in truth its time to let it go and move on. so in a way the song captures someone convincing himself that the thing is over. that it is better this way. well that wasnt very well put, but having been in that situation myself, it makes sense to me. |

GREAT song. all of the adolescent's songs are good. im surprised this is the only lyric up here, but that is probably from the popularity the song gained from slc punk. anyway, this song seems to be a humourous, playful piece mostly...there were probably very stoned or something. im going to fall into the cliche "its about drugs". |

this song is very paradoxical. there is the apology: "i never meant to hurt you (but i did)
i'm sorry that you cried so hard darling,
i'll never hurt you again"...and yet there is also the seemingly hateful mocking of " who's the one that's laughing now,
i'm the one who's laughing now"...i get a really bittersweet, regretful tone from this one. |

holy bajezzee. im surprised no one has said anything...well its only been up a few days. this song speaks to me more than any other asl song. it reminds me of the same themes i hear in thursday's autobiography of a nation. it tells of the corruption of civilization in general, of raising our youth to live in a society of greed, material production, and submission to greater powers. thats just what i hear. but i think there is more to it, too. |

yeah. definitely i would have to say no to dying while sleeping. drug use, possibly...thats something i never thought of. but what i usually think of right off the top of my head is sex. actually. because he says "still around the morning after"...saying that she isnt one to screw and leave, if you get what i mean. i think its more about a true love, not lust. |
