Katatonia – Unfurl Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Honestly, this to me seems to be partle about drugs. The chorus, "releasing the vapor into the lungs". |
Slayer – Behind The Crooked Cross Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"I heard it was the song that confirmed Jeff Hanneman's (and Slayer's) opposition against national-socialism, because of many criticisms they received (very frequently), even by former Sepultura vocalist, Max Cavalera!" That's pretty much it. He wrote this song to show that he wasn't a Nazi. |
Children of Bodom – Repent (Whore) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
And after a small search, I will conclude that this is NOT CoB, but Cryhavoc. http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/cryhavoc/sweetbries.html#2 http://www.darklyrics.com/c/childrenofbodom.html http://www.endlesswar.net/SOB/site.php?go=disco&lang=en&album=cob |
Children of Bodom – Repent (Whore) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
First, this song isn't (at least) originally by CoB. It's by a band called Cryhavoc, who were on a CoB single early on. (Their record label put other band's material on some singles, to get fans. This is whyy CoB ended up on a Nightwish single.) So this is either a cover, or not CoB. |
Edge of Sanity – Crimson II Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Most defenitely the greatest song ever made. It even tops the original Crimson, which is defenitely no easy feat! |
Children of Bodom – Angels Don't Kill Lyrics | 19 years ago |
You both got it wrong...somewhat. 4 kids went camping - 2 18 year old guys and 2 15 year old girls. Someone attacks their camp at night with a knife, and kills 3 of the campers, leavine one guy alive. He said he saw the grim reaper, and went insane for a while. |
Mayhem – Funeral Fog Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's a fog, that always comes once a year, and kills one person every year. |
Mayhem – Freezing Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Kodos, WTF are you talking about? Atilla never wrote any Mayhem lyrics. Unless you mean vocals... |
Opeth – To Bid You Farewell Lyrics | 19 years ago |
No, they're not prog death/black. They're just prog death, with maybe some doom metal added in. |
Opeth – Closure Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's about a man whose hurting himself for past grtievances. He feels guilt and can't cope, so he cuts/hurts himself to make up for it. |
Opeth – The Leper Affinity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's almost defenitely about raping someone, then murdering them. Just look... "Erotic communion on it's splendour", come on. "I am beyond death" shows how the rapist feels so powerful during the rape. Rape is mostly a crime of dominance, not sexual attraction. So, this seals ot for me. He also describes how he got to the woman. |
Opeth – Blackwater Park Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I see it as someone watching death destroy the world slowly, because of the wrong we've committed. |
Blind Guardian – Battlefield Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I can't decide specifics, but I think it has something to do with Richard the Lionhearted: "That's what the minstrel sing Join in the horrible screams Take part in murderous deeds Renowned be the lion-hearted " It could just be a reference to courage, but I'm not so sure. |
Blind Guardian – Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Mattstriker hit the nail right on the head here. It seems to be a recurring theme within Tolkien's works - when a dark lord stands and fights, he always looses (in some way). Here, Morgoth lost his courage and mobility. In other battles, he was wrestled to the ground and captured. |
Opeth – A Fair Judgement Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I think it's about someone who did something wrong, but just failed doing so. They were caught, sent to prison, and finally executed. Anyway, this is quite possibly the most beutiful song I've ever heard. |
Demons & Wizards – Fiddler On The Green Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is the song that has gotten me closes to crying...ever. Amazing. And I thought it was about medieval times, where the boy was taken to become a knight and the girl his wife/maiden, but she died early. However, the car crash theory is better I think. |
Iced Earth – High Water Mark Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is probably the most beutiful IE song I've ever heard. I love the emotion they put into this song, the classical elements of violin and the orchestra really accentuate the music, they make it much more emotional. |
Iced Earth – Melancholy (Holy Martyr) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Anyway, it's easily one of the more beutiful, well-done pieces of music. |
Opeth – By the Pain I See In Others Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Sex! It's about (very romantic) sex! |
Opeth – Bleak Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I also think the person may have done something to him, because of the first paragraph. |
Opeth – Bleak Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is obviously about him killing someone. He describes the approach: "Moving, I am moving closer to your side Luring, you are luring me into the night Crying, who is crying for you here Dying, I am dying fast inside your tears Plunging towards bereavement faster yet Clearing thoughts, my mind is set" Then, he sets up for the kill: "Devious movements in your eyes Moved me from relief Breath comes out white clouds with your lies And filters through me You're close to the final word You're staring right past me in dismay A liquid seeps from your chest And drains me away Mist ripples round your thin white neck And draws me a line Cold fingers mark this dying wreck This moment is mine Help me, cure you Atone for all you've done Help me, leave you As all the days are gone " Then he does it: "Night fall again Taking what's left of me Slight twist, shivering corpse Ornated with water, fills the cracks Clasped in my lims by tradition This is all you need" And he watches as their tears fill their wounds as they die, "clasped in my lim[b]s by tradition". |
Iced Earth – Dracula Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Well, Tim's an adequate replacement, anyway. Great song. |
Iced Earth – Melancholy (Holy Martyr) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This? Most likely about Jesus and his crucufixion. |
Iced Earth – Damien Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Easy. It's about Damien, son of the Devil. |
Amon Amarth – Amon Amarth Lyrics | 20 years ago |
OK this is a tough one. It seems simple at first, but it's hardly easy. TYhe band name "Amon Amarth" is LOTR elvish for "Mount Doom". It would lead as person to believe that this song is about LOTR or the silmarillion. Yet they make references to Vikings in the song. So, it would seem that the title of the song has no relation to the band name. |
System of a Down – Sugar Lyrics | 21 years ago |
it's about being on drugs. the "sugar" would be cocaine. the "kombucha mushroom people" are the people who pick magic shrooms. "sitting around all day"; shrooms only pop up early in the morning. "You know that every time I try to go Where I really want to be, It's already where I am, Cause I'm already there" he wants to go somewhere, but when he does that he hallucinates that he's already there. |
System of a Down – Aerials Lyrics | 21 years ago |
during a live performance, daron said "once again, this song is about nothing." |
