I'd also like to ask why people don't talk about the meaning of the song anymore or at least how the song affects them? Isn't what this is for? Who cares about labeling bands or what album or band is better? Not everyone likes the same music so stop bashing people's taste! |

Box Car Racer said at their concert in Portland, that this is the only song ever written about true love. I'd have to say that I agree that its about love. It reminds me of my boyfriend who is gone for the next two years. I've kept all of his letters which are filled with messages about how much he loves me and there is someone out there who feels just like me. Its such a great song! |

This song can be taken many different ways. I think that this song is about the whole "keeping up with the Jones'" thing. We're always trying to out-do our neighbors and friends, trying to be better than them. The guys in the song push each other to be better by trying to out-do each other. They push each other to be the best that they can be even though they have this competition with each other. |

The guys of Matchbox 20 write some of the saddest songs but they are all so great. I heard Rob Thomas say that he wrote this after he went on a road trip with a girl that he loved and she actually kicked him out of the car near a rest stop because she wanted out of the relationship and wanted to find what else is out there. I love the song and pretty much everything that Matchbox has done. |

This is one of their best songs. I love it. Its how I try to handle all breakups...with some class. Its hard to let someone you love go but I'd rather do it with style and smile and hope that they're going to be happy than making it a horrible breakup. I want to be remembered for the good times, not a bad ending even if I have to hide my emotions from someone that I love deeply. |

This is one of my favorite NFG songs. I love the lines "tie the rope me once more, I might bend but I won't break. Take this time out to find yourself, take this timeout to learn." Its like the relationship he's singing about isn't good and its coming to an end and he's tired of it but he's realizing that he's strong enough to handle it. Even though he loves this girl, he's hurting because of her and their relationship. This song came at the right time in my life and totally described how things were at the time. |

This is an amazing song. It means a lot to me and it always reminds me that there is always someone there who cares. Someone is there for us even when we don't see them or notice them. When everyone else has let us down, that special someone is there, wanting to be noticed and to let us know that they care and we mean something to them. We're so far gone that we don't notice anyone who is trying to help, when all of our trust is gone, someone is still there, loving us. |
