Blah.
People are willing to listen to anything that sounds pop-punkish because they can easily swallow it. It's simply the same old, rehashed songs of relationship/love and it's dull. And suddenly there's an introduction of more screamy vocals, which are supposed to add to the sense of emotion, or whatever. Lifetime was one of the first bands to do this (and if you don't know who they are--shoot yourself in the face).
If you think these songs are 'emotional' and if you like 'emo' (shoot yourself, but anyway), then you really need to invest in different bands. Bands like Finch are a dime a dozen. |

with every period in music, there's an opposing antithesis. 'emo' (whatever the hell it is, don't ask me) will have its 5-10 years, then people will eventually despise it and go to something else. same with disco, hair metal, etc. (which had it's own times) |
