Nickelback – Too Bad Lyrics

I can relate to this song too. The worst thing of all in my opinion is that the father ABANDONED his wife and kid(s), because it was too hard for him, and leaves the mother to have to work even harder for her family. We should all applaud mothers like that, who have their priorities straight and love their children more than themselves. My mom is amazing. She even gave my dad so many chances to make things right, but he never bothered to put in the effort. Good song. |

The video is way different than my interp. of the song. But I guess it makes perfect sense. It was a very sad video. I like the song, but yeah, it is way overplayed. |

Nothing like this has ever happened to myself or anyone I know, but it's still a powerful song and you can't help but see it played out in your mind, causing you to get into it. He does a good job sounding really angry too. I like this song. |

I love this song because the melody and the lyrics have the same kind of quality that earlier rock seemed to have. I don't know...it just made me think of 5 or 10 years ago. The lyrics are nice anyway. I love singing along to the song. It's a great tune. |

That's exactly it. It's too catchy to hate. You find yourself tapping your foot to the beat despite having just exclaimed to everyone that you hate the song. I didn't like it at first either, but it grew on me. Now I really like it. |

When I first heard this song on the radio, I didn't really like it either. But then it kind of grew on me, because the beat is really awesome. Once I learned the lyrics I appreciated it even more. In fact, now I really like it. |

I can't believe nobody has commented yet on this song. It's really one of my fave Nickelback songs. It's actually kind of a nice song too. The only thing I wonder is why they aren't together all of the time. He had to beg her to fly there and see him. Still a nice beat and fun to sing along to. |

I guess I don't really understand this song that well either, but no matter what it means, it's got a great beat and it's fun to sing along to! |

Pink Floyd – Learning to Fly Lyrics

Although it might have been written simply because they got their licenses-it has a little more meaning to me. I feel like it's about the pay-off when you've tried hard for something, and everyone is trying to drag you down. --A soul in tension that's learning to fly/Condition grounded but determined to try. Metaphors aplenty. |

Chris 211, thanks for the insight. I was told it had something to do with LOTR, but I also had the problem with things not matching up, but when you told about the appendix story, it really makes sense. |

I love this song so much. There's just something about it. I like that he's fighting to stay alive you know, defying destiny, or whatever. I just love everything about it. |

Hmm, I never thought about it being about people who had died, but now that I've heard that theory, it really makes sense to me. Either that, or they're just travelling, to escape from their boring lives or something, and anything is better than the way things were. I don't like that theory so much, because I always wonder why they'd abandon their kids. I like the idea that maybe they died. |

Collective Soul – Precious Declaration Lyrics

It kind of reminds me of divorce. Like when he says "Yours is yours and mine you leave alone now", like his awful ex wife doesn't get it anymore...and then the last verse, "Once i jumped through hoops of fire...." as if he did everything she said, but now he's free. But I know a lot of people don't agree with this one. |

The Nixons – Sister Lyrics

I really like this song. This might sound silly to some of you...but doesn't it remind you of the cartoon An American Tale? I always thought the first verse said, "Miles away/From our russian home" and then the part where he says, "Still we fall aleep underneath the same sky" reminds me of the song Fieval sings to his sister in the movie. I know it's silly, but that's what it makes me think of. |
