And another one! For me, the chop suey is the mishmash in the head of those, who were raised as christians but unfortunately they found out it didn't make any sense. Their faith has always been just one big disappointment and it is not working anymore... this makes you feel so betrayed. You used to do so many things in the name of your faith and then realized it was for nothing... And the lyrics are the ironical, cynical voice in your head , going: "Hey man, just put on your mask again, be cool and good and so not angry and sinful, right? You can't quit anyway, so keep going and shut up! That's what you wanted to - that's what you have chosen, your god damn faith!" And then the Jesus comes: "You little prick do not belive that I did it for you? To save you? You little bastard! You see, I care about your well-beeing so much...like sooo much" Because you know Jesus doesn't give a shit, he fled... And then finally, your mind literally explodes into: "God, why the fuck, why? I believed in you, I go to the church every fucking sunday morning, and this is how you repay me? By not existing? I just wanted to believe in you so much...just wanted to believe in good and be happy..." |
