Mafia, the best interpretaion I have read of this song. But, I will tell you a story. My girlfriend, who was a kind of English version of the girl from Reseda Maybe loved too much and got hurt. Then she grew up and got on and was successful and I know to a fact that she cruised down Ventura Blvd. She tells me she screamed free with all her heart and never saw any conflict in the lyrics. ...regret is for those who do the hurting! ..and we all take from songs just exactly what we need! |

Read the lyrics of other Paul Simon songs? She was beautiful as southern skies the night he met her... She was married to someone... He is a master of words and meaning and true depth. although I read people think it is shallow this song is exactly the way he meant it. It's about being shallow.
