Ed Sheeran – Autumn Leaves Lyrics 11 years ago
I believe that this song is about the inevitability of life and death; we live, we die.
It describes the idea that life is short and that we should just be happy, it brings attention to the fact that when we feel bad or depressed, that there are other people out there feeling the same; we aren't the only ones:

(Another day another life
Passes by just like mine
It's not complicated

Another mind
Another soul
Another body to grow old
It's not complicated

Another tear
Another cry
Another place for us to die
It's not complicated)

That being said, I also feel that this song describes the feeling we have when a loved one isn't around (due to being away, death, break up, etc). It is described in such a way that is perceived as common to everyone (the recurring use of 'another', telling the listeners that despite the loneliness they feel, they are not alone and they are not the only ones.

This telling of common emotions can also apply to other feelings such as depression. The lyrics talk about life passing us by and wasting time on love that never works out, which are quite depressing. Also the lines about birds still singing and stars shining, can be seen to be describing nostalgia; when we are young, it seems like everything is set in place for us, that everything will go well for us and we can't wait to grow up, but when we get older the realities of life kick in and we become overwhelmed with the work, financial and social stresses of life, and we begin to wish we were a kid again.

I believe that the chorus talks about things being simple and predictable again, like the simplicity and predictability of leaves falling in the Autumn. "Your miles away and yesterday, you were here with me" talks again about nostalgia, about how quickly time flies 'it seems just like yesterday'.

I don't know how much sense this made, and I am sorry if it doesn't make any at all! These are just thoughts I have had about this beautiful song.

Wow, I never thought about it that way! I totally agree with you especially the "put you on a wall" thing. Thanks!

Ed Sheeran – The A Team Lyrics 12 years ago
Ed wrote this song after going to a charity event for the homeless that his friend organised.

They had banners with the rules hanging up everywhere. The banners said Angel's rules and they said things like 'No drugs' or 'No swearing'. This girl was walking around bossing everyone around and telling them off for breaking the rules and Ed went up to his mate and asked who she was and his mate told him that they call her Angel. He told ed about her life story; how she was a heroin addict and how she took up prostitution to support her addiction.

Ed wrote this song about how she is addicted to an 'A CLass' drug, homeless and how she struggles to live.

I think it's a very touching song that reminds us of how lucky we all are.

Also in the part where he says

'I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind' (maybe he means that the other girl doesn't try to make contact with him anymore.)

'I'll do it all for you in time' (maybe he isn't really ready or he isn't sure he can make her the happiest she can be.)

My interpretation of Lego House is that is about a guy who has stuffed up really badly in his relationship with his girlfriend, they've broken up and now he wants her back.

'I'm gonna pick up the pieces and build a lego house, if things go wrong we can knock it down' (in my opinion this is the man's words trying to convince his ex that they should try again, what have they got to lose?)

'My three words have two meanings' (he means 'i love you' but i don't know what the two meanings are.)

'but there's one thing on my mind' (his ex)

'it's all for you' (all his love is for her)

'And it's dark in a cold December,
but I've got ya to keep me warm (he depends on her)

and if you're broken I will mend ya and keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on now' (he's saying that she can rely on him)

'I'm out of touch, I'm out of love' (he's out of touch with the girl he had an affair with and he's called it all off with her)

"I'll pick you up when you getting down' (He's saying he wants to take care of her again)

'and out of all these things I've done, I think I love you better now' (after all the cheating, the girlfriend finding out and breaking up with him, he realises that he needs her and loves her more than anything, so he will be a better boyfriend than before.)

'I'm gonna paint you by numbers
and colour you in' (He'll make her really happy)

'If things go right we can frame it, and put you on a wall' (If things go ok in the relationship he might propose)

And it's so hard to say it but I've been here before (Maybe he has cheated before)

and I will surrender up my heart
and swap it for yours (He says now that he has changed and he would give anything to have her and her love back)

Don't hold me down
I think my braces are breaking
and it's more than I can take
(I'm not really sure what is meant here but maybe it is his pleas as he so desperately wants to get back together with her. The waiting for her answer is torturing him. Or maybe it is the fact that she said no to getting back together?)

In the last chorus where he says "I will love you better now' he is saying that he knows that he will remain faithful to her and will love no one but her.

Anyways this is my interpretation of the amazing song Lego House by Ed Sheeran. I hope it makes sense.
