This was my ex-girlfriend's favorite song. Now that I listen to it again, it reminds me so much of her. Well this is what this song means to me.. (I met you on the palisades The sun was spilling kerosene And I was feeling wide awake Girl, you can be so obscene) I met my ex-girlfriend in California. I had just moved from Kentucky and everything was so different here. I guess you could say i felt wide awake when i was with her. One thing i loved about us was our strong Catholic faith. She was like none of the girls back home. (A missionary called your name You disappeared and hopped a flight For the serengeti plain) Then one day she met the morman missionaries. They talked to her about their church and after months of meeting with them she got baptized and we broke up. She is in love with one of those missionaries now. She plans on moving to Utah and marrying there. (I think I own a photograph That shows her in the freezing rain With the the Italians on the bank They know how to entertain) she may be happy now but sooner or later she will come back. those missionaries manipulate people like her to get converts, they don't care. (Now call your mother in L.A. She hasn't heard your voice in years) What's ever worse, she has kept this from her parents. Her parents are hardcore Catholic and she pretends to go to mass so they won't know she has converter morman. |
