Pretty obvious what the song means...'she' screwed up, maybe told 'him' 'she' was through and now 'she' regrets it, and wants to be anything and everything for 'him',because 'she' loves 'him'.
As far as who did it better(between avril and leona...) leona's voice I just don't think was meant for this song. Leona has a great voice, don't get me wrong, but I just like Avril's better...and Avril DID originally write it...and I'm a fan of all of Avril's other songs...so maybe I'm just bias...but I prefer Avril's for sure, hands down. And no, Leona didn't ruin the song, she somehow didn't do that for me, like I've said a bajillion times though, mehhh avril's is better...mhmmm. |

Totally my thoughts foreverafter :D...i see where everyone is coming from with him being in love and this girl not feeling it, or that she cheated on him, but i don't really see Three Days Grace write something so 'owl city' and every other teenie girl boy-band about something so cliche 'o i love you yet you dont love me'..and the line everyone seems to be bent over on 'you tried to lie and say i was everything' i took it like he didnt feel like he was good enough for her...whenever i compliment my boyfriend(or he compliments me) i always say he's lying or crazy...thats how i took that line anyway, but i can defiantly go different ways. |

mhm, I agree. I too really like the song, and believe it is about a very cautious girl who, if she is gonna dive into a relationship, is gonna do it right. She sounds nervous, but whenever she is around him, she feels so right and hopes he feels the same. |

Honestly, to me, this song doesn't mean breaking up, notice how she says she will always be there for him. I think, at least this is what it means to me, this song means she has to leave, and she doesn't want to but no matter what she is still going to love him. I can REALLY identify with this song, and it is one of my favorites, as I am going to move to a different state away from my boyfriend. I can't hide the fact that I have to go, but I will always love him, and someday we will be together. I know how it feels when she starts to sing about lullabies and distracting myself from what is happening because it hurts me and him so much. I also listen to music before I go to sleep because I get so upset and it's one of the only things that calms me.
