The song is unrelated to the music video, and that is where people are getting their interpretations messed up. If it were about the video, then mikey would be a girl("she" in the lyrics). It is about a guy whose girlfriend dies, and he is sitting around waiting to die too because, to him, there is nothing else worth living for. He is haunted (ever get the feeling that your never all alone) by her smiles and the relationship that they would have had (all the things that you never ever told me). When he is alone he thinks back to the day she died in his arms. he knows that he will only be with her again in the afterlife (at the end of the world or the last thing I see...you are never coming home). Could I? Should I? refers to whether he has the courage or will to go through with suicide "to see her again." pretty simple lyrics to interpret but most of the people on this site probably failed english lit. |
