I think this song is about growing up. When u hit puberty you start wanting to find yourself, but sadly the journey is filled with hurt and self-doubt. The truth is that we're misguided ghosts, sometimes chasing after something is not always good for us instead of loving what is. Love this song, always brings tears to my eyes, my whole life flashes before me when i listen to it. Love this band, they truly deserve every bit of fame that comes to them |

Okay, this is just my interpretation of the New Moon version.. This song doesn't refer necessarily to New Moon but the story in general, if you read the books, you'll get what I'm talking about I think this song refers a lot to Breaking Dawn when Bella goes vampire.. so here's my interpretation.. It's much like a conversation between her and Edward and vampirism itself. We can never go home // she can never go back.. she'll have to leave everything behind, friends, family.. everything We no longer have one // they'll be nomadic, moving from place to place, never staying too long I'll help you carry the load // but he promises he'll be there to make it easier, since she'll be a newborn, thirsting blood and being pretty much violent I'll carry you in my arms The kiss of the snow The crescent moon above us Our blood is cold and we're alone But I'm alone with you // pretty clear.. it's a love song Help me to carry the fire //this is from Bella's point of view.
